I need shields like the USS Enterprise to protect from opium addicts and uninsured drivers from running into me and my wife. Is Toyota working on that?

OK Everybody thanks for all the input and entertainment so far.

After the failed box experiment, my truck screamed brake for no reason while driving along an empty road. I hit the brakes briefly and it went away. This is now the fourth time that it has false alarmed on me.

I am planning on repeating the experiment on Monday.

I have read other threads on false alarms and have read that numerous people have had success cleaning off the toyota emblem from the behind.

I don't really want to take it to the dealer because they can go suck my dick.

Problem is, I have no idea how to remove the grill to clean behind the emblem. I am a complete moron with cars. I actually don't even know how to pop the hood. However, it seems to be a pretty simple job to remove the grill.

If you guys can HELP explain to me, very clearly, exactly how to remove the grill and clean the emblem, then put it back on, then I will put up a video on Monday of me driving into the boxes. I need instructions for somebody that is clueless.

Also, what do I clean the emblem with.

    AMERICA FUCK YEA.

    Thanks TW.

Two 10 mm bolts on top and like 5 plastic clips along the bottom (lift center of pin up then pull entire clip out)
Don't know why you would need to clean behind it. Clean your windshield around the camera and clean the front of the grill below the emblem.

At least you know yours will function. Mine has never even given me a false alarm. Lol. Also removing the the grille is super easy on these trucks. A quick YouTube search will show you how to do it without having to question where anything is.

You can change the setting to more sensitive.

Trust me. Tried everything. Sensitivity all the way up, cardboard cutouts with and without foil, and been in a few near crashes (including some with pedestrians walking) where this system should have been utilized with nothing. You wouldn’t know I even had the option. Adaptive cruise, Blind spot monitoring, and rear parking sensors all work fine. It’s only the colision avoidance that I’ve never even seen a warning for.

I’ve checked everything and even taken it to Toyota and they say the computer says everything is fine and I have no dash lights on. I just don’t want to take it back and have a tech riding around in my truck trying to “almost” crash it to test the system. The cardboard cutouts didn’t stand a chance when I tested it haha.

    My fourth red Tacoma
I have had a 2018 Tacoma since mid October. I had the truck automatically brake when the cruise control was not on. I was in heavy traffic on a highway and a car swerved into my lane and braked hard. The truck did the alert thing and braked fairly hard. It released just as the car swerved back into the other lane.

The TSS system has braked my vehicle quite a few times due to people cutting me off on the highway and slowing to a crawl. Also, the salesman wouldnt let me stop the test drive until i tried it. With him in the vehicle.

i told him i was leaving with vehicle. It didnt matter to me. It was not a selling point. Personally, a/c and heated seats in all models is more appealing to me
