I have no power at the fuel pump relay at all. So I'm missing two different powers? EFI relay comes on( I can hear it click) also I can jump it and it comes on. I checked the EFI fuses but if I remember right I only had power on one side of the fuse. I'll check that again when I get home tonight

Snorkel and front locker you had that shit all day.

How long has it been? When I sunk my tundra it took a couple days of drying out for all the dash lights to go away. I drove it on cross country trip the next week with 0 issues. But mine wasn’t sunk for 7 hours...

Everyone says snorkel is a worthless mod, until you need it, then it is the best money spent.

I always though snorkels were to get less dusty air to the engine.

Are snorkels even truly water proof?

It moves the intake from the wheel well to the top of the roof. So you have a better shot at not hydrolocking the motor.

See attached. Complete wiring schematic for the 1GR-FE Engine Control. It helps to print it out and tape each of the pages together. 100% you should have hot on both sides of the EFI fuse with key off and hot on both sides of EFI No2 fuse with key on. If that's not the case, I'd start checking the master fuses.

And to everyone else. I've crossed that same spot in the river dozens of times. Early summer can be a crap shoot because of the snow-melt. Just depends on the line you take, how tall your tires are, and what new rocks got pushed in or out of the crossing area since last season.

Well I was hoping just the presence of staff in the thread would stymie the trolling. Guess not.

So I'll just remind everyone about the Code of Conduct as well as @JimBeam's halftime speech. If you don't have anything constructive to help the OP, please move onto the next thread.

Holy cow! At least we pulled it from the other side so it wouldn't roll. That's the same spot too lol. As a matter of fact, when the sun came up there was another truck that had been pulled out and was sitting right next to that tree lol

Aside from the mechanical and minor electrical issues (like getting power to the fuel pump), the REAL issue is going to be galvanic corrosion on any circuit boards that got wet. That includes the ECM and any other computers that are plugged into the harness. You may be able to get the truck running now but in the months to come, you will very likely have other issues come up. Be prepared to replace (or attempt repair) those items. Galvanic corrosion is like a cancer of the low voltage components. It is the primary reason most cars get scrapped when flooded.

Yeah, thats a fast river- used to camp there rafting it and we’d tie a rope to a tree and the other end to a 3x3 raft deck and stand up water ski on it. Glad you didnt roll, there was a fatality once because of it. A good lesson for all of us. Hope you get your survivor truck back on the road again soon, its been taking good care of you!

If you follow the schematic, you will see that the EFI relay supplies power to the C/OPN relay contact through the black wire. Then the C/OPN relay supplies power to the fuel pump relay through the black/white wire. If you look at the fuel pump relay, you see that it doesn't really turn on the fuel pump. It only switches between the NC contacts which supplies direct power to the fuel pump and the NO contacts which sends power to the fuel pump through the resistor. If the EFI relay is working properly, you need to be looking at that C/OPN relay and the associated wiring. See if you have power to the relay coil and the input contact, and then see if the ECM is supplying a ground to the C/OPN relay coil.

    Yup.

Needless to say, OP's decisions have taken a perfectly good truck and made it destine for the scrap heap. Like you stated, bringing things back from being submerged is a NIGHMARE when we are talking about connectors, fuse boxes, relays etc that are not meant to be more than lightly slashed on a rare occasion. All the stuff that got soaked in the cab... man o man, those connections are destine to be an electrical gremlin nightmare.

Then lets not forget about the mold and moisture buildup in the cab / seats, and all of the water / moisture buildup within the motor, trans, tcase and axles that cant be properly removed due to lack of running.

OP good luck, but you got a loong LOOONG road ahead of you.

My understanding is if you do the standard install they are not waterproof as there are some drain holes lower down where it enters the air box that need to be sealed up if you want a fully waterproof one.

I think the biggest benefit is lower dust in the air pulled from up high. Vehicles have so much electronics in them nowadays that you are going to fry your ECU and a bunch of other stuff long before you get near the top of the snorkel.
