This is Nevada. Everything in that truck was bone dry within 39 minutes of it being removed from the river.

I don't think I can help with your specific issue. But I do think I can help with some useful suggestions based on experience.
Get a couple of sets of "needle' files and a large tube of dielectric grease, also known as 'tune-up grease'. Some emery cloth, in a couple of different grades - say some 80, 120, 220- will come in handy. Do get cloth, not paper (cloth-backed usually tends to be superior in quality). Beg, borrow or steal a decent 'wet/dry' ("shop-vac")-type vacuum with accessory attachments. You will need to be able to reverse the airflow so that you can use it as both 'blower' and 'vacuum'. Buy a Factory Shop Manual, they are invaluable....at the absolute minimum get a Haynes and/or Chiltons manual. Procure a small, bright flashlight- keep it on you at all times during the Resurrection. Get some snug-fitting, thin gloves with good grip- I like knit, with nitrile-coated palms. Buy some good BandAids-you'll need em when you forget to put on your gloves or can't wear them to pull apart that sensor connector in the hole protected by sheet metal teeth. o
Strip the truck interior. Dash, seats, instrument cluster, carpet, door panels, hvac ducting, everything you can remove. Refer to your book(s) when you can't figure out how to take it apart without destroying it. Clean it, let dry. Disassemble all electrical components that you encounter-by this I mean unplug every electric sensor, connection, socket, plug.....pull relays, fuses, mounts. Dry all thoroughly, using a combination of (preferably) lint-free cloths/rags (old diapers are perfect) and both functions (suck and blow o_O) of the shop-vac. When do-able , leave dis-assembled components to 'air-dry' for a while. Use the flashlight to closely inspect for any remaining traces of moisture. If you're not positive a small component is completely moisture-free you can place it in a small 'zip-loc' bag, seal it and put it in the sun for 20 min or so (depending on time of day/strength of sun-don't cook it!)- long enough to get warm to the touch. If you have condensate on the inside of the bag when you check it- well, it ain't dry enough. Do it again, right this time. When it's completely dry use the needle files or the emery cloth to remove any visible corrosion on all bare -metal portions of your component that are supposed to carry electricity. Use same to lightly scuff 'clean'-looking bare metal for same. Squeeze a small blob of the dielectric grease into every socket, plug, connection, etc before reconnecting,. The goal here is to remove any existing impediment to proper current flow (oxidation, aka rust and corrosion) and to prevent it in future.

Many many years ago I successfully 'resurrected', in this way, three (out of the six ) family vehicles totaled in a fluke neighborhood flood- all up to the roofline in sewer water for 24 hours plus. Mind you this was long enough ago that all three were carbureted
ah blast it Sorry I gotta cut this a bit short right now your basically going to do the same as above in tbe engine bay
    criminy
    I'll come back Good luck.

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
That crossing seems to eat rigs every year. Google the 'other' offroad forums for "barney riley" as well, and you'll find plenty of stories (with pics!) I've turned around at that crossing more than once and taken the long-ass way back. $20 in extra gas is cheaper than a busted rig.

But, I commend you for the attempt. You obviously used your bigger-than-mine ballsack as an emergency flotation device! :D

I hope you get your truck fixed and turn this into a DIY step by step way to fix a drowned truck. I’m sure some of us may need this some day.

Wrote in the third gen forum that I got a slight gouge in my rear driver side bumper cap after backing into a chain link... this thread puts things in perspective. It is a good day. Relatively.

Cant tell if sarcastic. Lol. But yes. Just backing up watching the cam and I think I was waiting for some proximity sensor beeps ( that my wifes Pilot has). No beep so I just kept creeping back. Brain fart.

I would take apart every connection I could get to and hose it out with WD-40. I'd even pull the dash if I was planning on keeping it.

Very swift and the green rock crawler in one of the pics pulled the truck out.
