Just received my bed mount spare tire mount. last of the mohicans!

adding to my DRT collection; CMR, hitch skid, shackle hangers. patiently awaiting the rear bumper w/ swingout.

these welds belong in a museum. bang up job, now let's get me some R&D tie rods

 

Love to hear it! Currently have a few spots left to get in on the swing out pre-order(only have a handful of machined parts for swing outs) shoot me an email if you want to get in on it !

Agreed. Not sure whether to install it on the truck, or mount it on the living room wall.

Good progress on the back half of the Tacoma with @454Motorsports

Prototype DRT spec @atlassuspension leafs cycled perfectly. 14 5/8” of capable travel and cycled 13 3/8” with the 12” @adsracingshocks bypasses. Some minor tweaks and 16” of travel is a very possible number to hit with a 15” smooth body from @adsracingshock Pretty impressive for a SOA Tacoma AND under the bed. Paired with our shock relocation, hangers, and new threaded bump stops.

@dmzfab frame boxing kit is in, wiring harnesses are P clamped, axle is nice and refreshed, 24” brake lines are in(will need longer if we push travel numbers past 14 5/8”)

Final assembly and limit straps going in today along with our CMR on the front.

 

I finished welding up my drt spindle gussets yesterday. Really nice product from DRT. The fit is perfect.
Is it a good idea to replace the axle seals in the spindle after welding on them?

 

They can be reused but I typically replace them since I’m already there.

 

Now those are some sweet TIG welds. I look at a lot of them.
You would be surprised what passes for welding these days.

@drtfabrication any chance of getting another run of the bed mounted spare tire holders for the 3rd gen tacomas? Missed the last drop yall did. My 35inch spare doesnt fit under the bed anymore and got my hammer hangers too so no spare anymore under bed.

 

I'll sell you mine if you want. I bought on the last drop but going in another direction.

I've always wondered, do you paint the inside of the frame plates before welding?
