To be fair- I didn't imply 'just adding a dip' was simple or cheap. If I built a bumper that met all of my own specs, it would cost $3k and be made of unobtanium and defy the laws of matter ..:burnrubber:

But seriously- I do appreciate the explanation and justification:cheers:.. Will keep watching this thread for the rear bumper dev since I won't be in the market for a front bumper anytime soon!

Just wondering - I have a lifted Taco with Body Armor sliders. For me it's no problem getting in and out as I am 6"1' My wife on the other hand is 5"4' she is a trooper and manages but I would like to make it easier for her. Would there be a market for a step that could bolt on and off sliders. I wouldn''t want a step when I am on the trail obviously but most of the time when I am just mall crawling it would be nice to have on the passenger side. I can't find anything like this. Would this be worth your while or am I the only one who has ever expressed any interest in something like this?

I was just about to place an order for the rear bumper with swing out and rear diff skid last night but now they are both “Sold Out”. Is that a temporary thing? I’m a little sad I didn’t pull the trigger.

Hey just waned to say if you were on the fence about ordering from DRT, don't be, @drtfabrication Derik has been great at keeping me updated on my order even when I wasn't even worried about it. I had ordered a diff skid and hitch skid, the hitch skid came about 2 weeks ago and the diff skid is on its way. Even with everything shipping right on time Derik decided I needed a 100 refund for my "troubles". Guess my "troubles" is picking out more stuff to buy. :spending::rofl:

Keep making nice stuff and I'm going to keep buying.

Thanks man!! And I just felt like your order took way longer than it should have. Thanks for being patient! It’s a breath of fresh air haha

Now that’s the definition of giving a shit about your business. Awesome. And then an immediate reply. Think I just decided who I’m getting a front bumper from.

Don't know yet TBH. And I'm not in a rush to get one..

Losing my BSM and Parking sensors is the big debate- I kinda like having both those and I haven't seen any that reliably lets you keep those..
Also, the ones that have a built in receiver won't actually give it a rating ( I get the liability and not committing to a rating, but I still want the peace of mind when I am towing)

I agree, it would be nice to have a tow rating. At least DRT's bumper appears to have bars from the receiver into the plates that attach it into the frame. The construction doesn't look much too different than rated aftermarket hitches. From their product page:

I like Warfab's design even better, but they don't seem to be making/selling anything currently.

That’s exactly why I keep balking on the purchase especially after switching from a Diamondback cover to a Super Pacific X1.

Here's a hitch rated for 7,300 pounds with weight distribution. There's not much to it. https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/Toyota/4Runner/2007/75155.html

I put a relatively obscure hitch on my Prius to carry bikes. It's rated even though the car is not. I don't know how big Torklift Central is, but I imagine they don't have the budget of the big hitch companies like Curt and Draw-Tite. Is there even a standard they have to design/test to, to advertise a tow rating? SAE J684? Anyway, that's just an example that it is possible for a small company to offer a tow rating. Better actual picture: https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/Toyota/Prius+Prime/2018/306-X7369.html
