Does anyone know how much those little weights tacked onto the outside surface of the drums weigh?

Since they are balance weights, they will vary in weight as needed. A new balanced drum will be cheaper than trying to have yours repaired, and don't try welding your own weight on, as it will warp the drum. You might try it without the weight though, to see if you have any ballance issues from it being missing.

oh my weights are there.. its for a project, I'd LIKE to knock them off but would rather not. i'll try a 1/4 spacer first and go from there.

    LOL!

I was worried but mine is fine.

During an oil change and inspection, I noticed a huge piece of damaged tread.
Popped the tire off and installed the spare.
When I got the rim busted loose from the hub, the weight popped off of the drum with it.

I haven't noticed any vibration and the tire has been wearing fine, been almost a year.

I see. Will they clear the front calipers, or are are you thinking spacers there as well?

1" requirement up front, no getting around that - do not want to utilize in the rear and since 1/4 spacers at is may/may not effect centering the rim to the hub i wanted to avoid using those.

its new territory so i'll just have to play around with configurations.
