Looking a dryflow air filter that fits the TRD cai. AEM just stopped producing the 21-208DK 5.5 x 5" that would have fit perfectly. All the sites I visited didn't have any...................anyone found a good replacement for the oily K&N?

Is it ok if you just clean your filter and don't oil it, and add a prefilter?

I am also Planning on replacing my Conical Volant oiled air filter from my CAI and replacing it with a dry filter.
I still need to find the correct replacement size for my Volant intake but dont know if I should go for an AFE (~$50)or the new Volant Powercore foam filter(~$100).

which will be a better upgrade, the AFE or the Volant?

Edit: the volant filter cannot be washed but is garanteed to filter for 100K miles

Not sure with your set up what would be best, but I like the AFE claims that just "tapping out the dirt" with their filters reclaims I believe 85% air flow, vacuum filter for 95% air flow and clean with soap and water for a full 100% air flow. Filter construction looks like all the other quality filters out there, but with no more oil treatments I like the maintenance factor, so lets see how they hold up...
