Diode and Capacitor are utilized and necessary, all hidden in the taped portion.

I was wondering how else it could work without it. Thanks Daniel. I'll continue to follow your thread here in hopes that you produce these harnesses in the future.

As far as the second gens go... As long as they are negatively triggered dome lights this will work. Do your dome lights dim on and off? Have not done the research for the second gens as of yet.

Post #7. Looks like you guys have a switched ground as well. No idea where that connector is. I cut my trigger wires to length for the 3rd gen so there may be some lengthening/shortening of wires to the harness but you should be good to get this to work.

Once the test unit is installed I will start building these in batches as I have the time. (I have four ready to go now pending any changes)

Working out a cost figure now as well.

Once I have a batch ready to go I plan on first come first serve. (First ones to PM me will get a paypal link).

Depending on how much interest there is I may start a waiting list. But for now it will be first come first serve when I have batches ready.

Those are my thoughts for right now, subject to change.

Do you already have to have rock lights installed? In other words, is your mod just the wiring and switching for the rock lights, or are you also selling the lights themselves?

This is a mod to an existing rock lights setup with a ch4x4 or similar switch. Adds the capability of the dual modes, courtesy and anytime activation. Splices into your existing rock lights circuit (should you already have it installed). Allows you to run a negatively switched circuit (dome light) with your positively switched circuit (CH4x4 Switch). There is some added complexity because the dome light is sent a pulsed ground signal (dims on and off). This harness address's that issue as well.

Thanks a lot man, that clears it up for me. I don't have any rock lights but I like to hobby on my trucks and that looks super cool. To be honest I'm really interested in a lot of lighting mods but I'm inexperienced with running wires, changing fuses, adding switches, etc. I need to see if I can find some videos but I assume the rock lights are a pretty straight forward install, and the option to have them as courtesy lights sounds great. I'll be watching for updates, thank you.

It should be in the $60 price range including shipping pending any potential changes after volunteer installs this weekend. I'll update the first post when its cemented. I've done all of my cost analysis; direct material cost, time studies (labor), testing time, development costs, shipping costs, looked at other similar type products sold here on TW, etc. (Engineering Manager is my profession so I tend to go above and beyond on those things)

Thanks for being patient gents, want to make sure all goes well on a trial run before I push it out. Need that feedback, want to make sure you all will be satisfied. When it's all said and done I hope this takes off. This has been one of my absolute favorite mods to my Tacoma so far. Excited to share it!

FWIW x2. Fixed a typo in the wiring diagram post #2 that tester pointed out. Correct now.
