yea I was going to take it to Kaena Pt. to break it in a little but I also heard that people as of late were driving on native plants and ancient burials so the police are probably going to shut it down. Just my luck!! I finally decide on a suspension and they shut down one of the only places to wheel. There is always Peacock Flats but eehhh pretty rough terrain, I need some sliders. :D

Kaena Point is very torn up from offroaders. As much as I like wheeling myself, I think it needs to be off limits. Hawaii's nature is very sensitive. If you've ever been there after a rain it's horrible. It becomes a large muddied area and its sad to see. The pristine Hawaii as the original Hawaiians saw may never come back to life there. Think Iz's "Hawaii '78"

Peacock Flats is very technical and requires a special permit. If you're military, you might be able to get a pass.

Yea it is extremely torn up out there and it's beautiful with the monk seals in the morning and albatross sanctuary a little farther in the back. I usually take my truck just into the beginning park and mountain bike all the way around to Wainae side and back. Great Ride!! Then go to Cholos or Breakers afterwards!!;) peackock flats is too brutal for what I intend to do with my truck.

nah no t shirt.. I wish! cough cough.. marco...

    :D

sway bar relocates are in one of the bags I think, or maybe just not in the picture.

Yea I have the Elite off road front bumper, ATO skids, and will be getting a winch soon. You are correct.. blue coils because they are 700lb kings. They actually give my passenger side a little too much lift right now.. 3 1/4 ish with no diff drop = bad cv angle

with them adjusted to the same, the driver's side is 1/2 an inch lower. taco lean is wack!

Yeah, this problem with lean and sagging has me wanting adjustable CO's but they're so much more expensive then OME's. I guess I can always get adjustable Bilsteins but I hear they're not as nice a ride or as durable as OME's. It's either a nice ride/no adjustability/less price (OME) or nice ride/adjustability/high price (Fox COs) or little stiffer ride/adjustability/less price (Bilsteins).

    06yoda,
I used to mountain bike Kaena Point all the time!!! I did that same exact route several times/yr back in the day. Last summer I rode Kaena Point and saw the big gapping chunk of trail that the ocean claimed back. That wasn't there 10 yrs ago. I also used to race the time trial there. Forgot what it was called but many times it was a mudfest.

Cholo's!! They have the bestest, most ono red sauce enchiladas on Oahu! Never heard of Breakers. Must have opened after I left the island.

Hahaha...well, we only make shirts a couple of times a year, and if I had any, I'd send you one!

I have a question for those of you who have picked up the stem top rear shocks from us:

How is the ride on them? We have been valving them all the same, using the 'OakleyTRD' valving that we developed with Cliff. But how are you guys liking the ride? Do you guys have any feedback on any changes that might be needed?

    Let us know...

    Thank you,
    Marco

Well I'd like a shirt and I'm more than willing to pay for it. :D

I should have my new leaf packs friday but with a broken finger I doubt I'll be able to install anything. I'll let you know how I like them when I find out!

A note on my front coilovers.. I got the spanners and the top plate today (thanks again!) and I loosened the passenger side so that the top of the top collar is even with the top of the end of the threads and it fixed my cv boot fin rubbing issue. (not able to use a diff drop because of my IFS skid)

    wow! loooooooooong!

Got my fronts in today with the help of Seth. Didn't crank em enough. Goin off of whoever I talked to on the phone around 6pm, he said they were preset to around 2.25 to 2.5". We added an extra quarter inch of compression, hoping for a little over 2.5". When we got em on, it was quite clear we were nowhere near that. Big time camber. Rubbin like no ones business. What were ya'lls measurements, or thread counts for your coilovers? Looks like we're gonna have to pull em back off tommorow and crank em some more.

One thing of note for the guys at DSM. Are the resi mounts a universal style? They're not a great fit, the dimple cuts force the bolt holes away from the swaybar mounts. We got around this by boring out the holes on the mounts to allow a little bit of play. Also, they sit too far aft. Right now the resi lines barely clear the coils, and the hose clamp is right on t he very edge of the reservoir, no room to move it any farther forward. It works, and so far I don't think I have any major concern over it, but it might be of consideration for the next guys in line.

Anyways, I'm happy to have these bad boys in.... one thing that is kinda cool about them not being cranked up yet.... my truck is riding like a caddy! haha. They ride pretty nice!.
