Thank you for singling us out on calling out what we see. You must have missed the part about DSM knowing of the same issues as well. That's great that you state that "Maxtrac spindles are designed to work with all of the " Factory Components "nothing more nothing less" Yet when you were in here you were saying we should carry them and that they will work with the Uniball Upper arms out on the market. Which we disagreed about, and now you admit there are issues. For the guys looking just for lift, there are no issues with these and they are great for what they are intended for. Were not saying anything different. All we are pointing out is that they can have issues with aftermarket arm's. Which for the guys wanting a Mid-travel setup, they need to know these possible issues.

Ya, it's hard to cycle and test every possible suspension config. out there. But At least doing the big 3 (Icon, Chaos, Camburg) would be a start. It would save some users a headache.

Now, where did I put the blame totally on the spindle? Read my post again. I stated a fact that has been seen with the Camburg UCA's and gave advice for the user to check it with his arms. Then Below that I also gave another possible cause with the snap ring ears contacting the mis-align and it's dropped out and the spindle pivots.

Yes, We have said the spindle is to big. To big to work with some of the Aftermarket UCA's which is a true statement once again. We never said they were not strong. But something does not need to be bulky to be strong. Which is why we choose to go with the fabricated Total Chaos or Camburg UCA's to give the users wanting the added wheel travel the option to do so without issue and without having to limit the wheel travel they are trying to gain.

Maybe just put a disclaimer or make your distributors aware of the possible issue when using these with the Uniball UCA's available today? Cause last time you were in here, it was a different story and you did not want to believe us.

Still cycle it and see where it's hitting. You should not need to Limit your suspension travel on a mid-travel set-up. You have stock bump stops and your up-travel should not have changed. UCA's only offer added droop, So you would only need to strap it.

Ahhh SDHQ... The know it all's of the off-road industry...

You guy's must have heard me wrong because I had told you when I was there that we built our spindles to work with all the factory components. Some of the guy's on the forum were using aftermarket arms and having no problem and that's exactly what I had said.... Also I told you guy's that the Camberg arms would NOT work Period... Camberg makes great products but they will NOT work with our spindles.. That's what I had said. Maybe I should write it down and hand it to you so you guy's can have it on file. So we can sit here on this forum and bash each other all day long but it does NO ONE any good especially the great people on this forum. Because they want answers and cycling the suspension is the best way to find out what's going on.
BTW on our spindle feed you will find me stating that our spindles are designed for the factory components. Please don't put words in my mouth that I didn't say.

    Last thing
EVERY Suspension manufacturer out there INCLUDING ICON states that is you use anyone else's parts on their kit it will void all warranties period
That includes Fabtech, Pro Comp, Superlift, and the list goes on. We are no different.

Thanks for the Compliment! We don't know it all, but we try! And we are not afraid to call it like we see it as well. No matter what the product or company.

And that's one of the reasons we do not wish to sell the spindles. We sell products that improve ride quality and performance, and we want products that will work in conjunction with those with absolutely no issues. Yes you did tell us that, and we also disagreed. And ok, so we are on the same page about Camburg arms not working. But the reason they have issues is ya, that are a tad shorter in design because they need to for the bigger uniball which takes that room up. The bigger cup contacts the top of the spindle at droop since it is a bit bulky up there. We took note of what you said, and where they are made, and are still not wanting to sell nor stock them.

This thread can die now. Hopefully the OP get's the issue figured out without losing the wheel travel he paid for. Just trying to help members out.

    Cheers!

Obviously its disappointing and a pain to take care of but no one knew if these spindles would work well with dsm uca's. Strangely the passenger side is okay but we all know every truck has slight differences in geometry. As performance is top priority for me, losing travel is a bummer, especially when all it has is 10" or so. I'll work with it and address the contact, mean while saving for LT :)

Post up the droop pics when you can and we will see if we can spot something going on or contacting. It's weird when its only one side. Cause then it could be an alignment issue too. Still fixable none the less

Love my MaxTrac's. Love the stock ride feel they give me. No stiffness or jolts. Love how solid they look, and glad to hear that they took all that punishment and still survived the destruction.

And I wouldn't sell them to you if my life depended on it... You praise the product one week and bash it the next... Good company motto... Again you guy's started it... I was just stating the facts. and BTW our spindles do not limit travel. When they are installed for what they are built for... Only bashing here is you guy's... I was just giving facts...

Finally got around to doing this after an 80 hour week. The wife picked up the misalignment spacers from DSM a couple days ago, thanks DSM.

Pic for reference at full droop. Drivers side looks like it's touching the ground but it isn't, tire is able to spin. The ground is uneven.

What do you guys think? As we can see the control is not making contact w/ the spindle head.

Hmm. Can you remember if the Snap ring is close to where the damage on the spacer is. ? That's all I can think of it really being. Even then it's still odd.

No the snap ring is not close to the damage. But like your comment earlier SDHQ, I feel it's too much down travel and the uni ball is 'pulling' down on the misalignment bolt tearing the mettle. Crude way to explain that but hopefully makes some sense.

I'm off today, was going to give Trac performance a call and see if they can cycle the suspension and strap it. Another set of eyes always helps, not to mention they're local.

In this picture, is this the new spacer that has damage? and if it is only on the back side of the spacer, would it be a up travel issue?

Nope. New spacers are sitting next to this laptop. I'll leave them off till I can remedy this issue. Don't feel like damaging new parts :)
