You can run them either way, that is how your shackles and all tacomas stock are set up, the defined kit is the same way

if the shackle was going down it would make the ride height higher than with it up, correct? what are other differences between the two different setups?

Its more if your 1st or 2nd gen. 1st gen shackles hang down and the frame is straight in the back. 2nd gens are an inverted shackle on the side of the frame because the frame dovetails at the rear after the front spring hanger. You can can have hanging shackles on a 2nd gen but most stick with however it came stock. Ride height is not affected by one or the other, thats depends on the springs you have and how much rear weight you have.

One difference is inverted shackles squat more when you hit the gas, traditional shackles hanging down actually want to raise the rear of the truck when you hit the gas

With weight in the bed it kinda cancels out, but yeah very crazy feeling not feeling it sag when hard on the gas from a stop. Aaron has a video of his bed empty and when he hits the gas it jumps up. From what I understand it helps the rear droop in between whoops when on the gas since leafs dont have a lot of rebound anyway

I feel that it will give me less side to side tacking on my rear end also. Did a brake job yesterday so didn't get much done on the taco. I did do this though

EDIT: This is my sticker BTW it will only be the white part ^^^^
