Here is something for you guys to read.

Dual antenna in most any circumstance is overkill and unnecessary. With two antennas you can accomplish the same as you can with only one. Frankly, my 102" SS whip works just fine. Its not worth the extra cash to setup a dual (75 ohm) system. Now I can think of some good, yet totally outlandish reasons to have dual antennas. But I can't think of any reason for the weekender to have a dual setup. JMHO.

I just dont see the point in 2 antennas when you have a little mickey mouse radio. I dont mean to:stirthepot:. I think the single antenna look is more for the offroad type trucks. 2 antennas is more for performance. By the way i have a Cobra 29 picked and tuned with a Monkey made and a Frances. But this is on my work truck (18 wheeler).

    WOW,

    this is getting "GOOD" ;);)

You want duals, you are paying for them.DO IT...just set them up properly and do NOT BIT%# when you "oops" one out on the trail, then "yada-yada" for a week or 2 with it still broke and burn the finals out of that little radio;)....

YES ,that is experience talking and the "Fried" radio was $450:p...one of our drivers did not want to check out his "Idiot" light that was blinking:confused::rolleyes:.....

I have one antenna mount on the Tacoma BUT can run either my 3' Wilson whip or my 6' 10K coil ......

The duals will stay on the "Mack Office" where the "Little radio" is ;)...

I forgot to mention that I only have the frances on my truck for my TV. The monkey made is for the CB.

Nice setup Oswego! Nice and clean.

Are your co phased antennas 1/2 wavelength or 5/8 wave?

    Cheers.

Snowgod06, are those 5 foot antennas on your Taco? I just got a 5 foot Skipshooter for mine, and didn't realize just how much it would stick up above the cab when I ordered it online. I like that height but I'm concerned about it hitting branches and such.
