Dual Battery Install

let us know when theres a 2.7 version; and the specs need to say what size batteries are installed in it

 

I've actually been looking into a dual battery setup like this with the blades for a while now! I'd be down a little group buy, when I get back to the real world I'll see about doing a feeler thread.

...or if someone with a real computer wants to start a thread? I just have phone access for the next two weeks.

 

And as to why you'd want a dual batt setup, some of us overland guys run a multitude of electronic stuff and the last thing you want is to be out in the middle of nowhere and hear that dreaded clicking at startup!

I wish this was for the 2.7l If i had see this earlier i would have gone to Columbia overland last week when i put my dual batteries in!

So what did you do instead? You should post up pics.

 

Ask and you shall receive

First i ground down the paint and remove the factory battery



Then i riveted some bar stock to the stock location




Test fitting the batteries




Wired up




And the isolator

 

win.

Thanks Craig! I'm going to redo the battery tie down though, I had one slip and ground out while driving which shut the engine off. I got it fixed and hasn't happened again but i need something a little more secure.

 

Meh... As long as you don't set it on fire its a win...
