It can be easily done but you are going to need to move the seats up pretty far. Thy are only in the rear facing for a year, if that is any consolation. I have two forward facing as kids are 5 & 3, but I am also 6'6'' and a rear facing would not of worked for me.

Time to buy the wife a 4runner!

We peaked in a 4 runner at Wal-Mart, and they had one in the middle and it looked jsut like my truck.

MY son is one but he doesnt weigh enough to sit in a forward facing seat yet, and the wife was reading something that says to keep kids in rear facing for aslong as possible.. so we are trying to figure it out.. probobly have to put one in middle and one behind the seat im NOT sittin in..

Just remember that your going to want your kid facing the rear for as long as possible. It used to be after 1 year you turn them around but the specs have changed recently. Now they go by the weight of the child on when they can face forward. Facing backwards is much safer in a wreck. I know this because my Captain is a child safety seat technician and we are a certified Fire Dept. for installing child seats. I will be taking this week long course next week.

You are right, I forgot about these new rules. I think the new weight to be able to switch is 25lbs???

I have 3 car seats in the back of my double cab. One is a booster seat but the other two are full on car seats. It's pretty tight back there but I love my truck.

I have two forward facing seats now but I ran one of each last year.

The rear facing was one of those huge Graco things that snaps into the permanently mounted base. It was behind the passenger seat. When it was in, I couldn't move the passenger seat all the way back but it definitely went most of the way (maybe 2 or 3 clicks from all the way back).
