    Here is my take.

Remove ac controls and radio and radio surround first.

Push outlet in to a blank under the ac controls.

I didn't want to have wires going directly to battery or tapped in a fuse hanging around which it a total eye sore. So I used the ground already behind the radio surround.

Then I fished the hot wire over to the fuse panel in search of my constant hot. Which I found here.
Its the top plug with the red wire soldered and shoved in and zip tied for now until I have time to depin and solder to existing pin.

Next reinstall all your trim pieces and enjoy your new 3.1 amp charging outlet that is about as factory looking as you can get. Enjoy.

that looks super clean. i recently did similar but for the back seats. might have to also do front!

but what about a fuse in case that happens to mess up. couldn't it blow something connected at that harness?

this is where i did mine

All of those wires from the box will be fused already. I'm not too worried. I will be adding an inline minifuse when I solder to the contact in the plug.

What would be Awesome, is to be able to somehow hook this or another USB Outlet to your head unit(stereo) so that you're able to play music off a thumb drive. This mod alone is cool though as I could charge my iphone & other devises that utilize usb.

Behind the aux cover I already have a USB port and aux jack so I can do just that.

My problem was the port had very little power and could not keep up with my phone running GPS. Let alone my tablet.

The aux and USB plug is factory entune junk. Yes it charges an iPod but not my phone. Yes it can play music from thumb drive.
My truck is a 14 with engine plu . Idk when they started installing them.

The new plug is charge only.
