    There might be a couple of others. Suffice it to say, it would be very involved. The control unit itself is not something that can be easily swapped by itself, it would require at the very least the amplifier and blower motor control to be swapped out, however it would still require a lot of rewiring and work to get it to "forget" about controlling the dual climate functionality. If you wanted to do it, you'd want to do it completely to ensure it worked properly.

    If you are careful and take care, you can remove the dash and harness and get it back together without any new rattles, but it's not quick and easy. There was some discussion in this thread about who would be able to do it (techs vs. hobbyist, etc.) and I don't think it is cut and dry. If you have the skills and take your time, and replace anything that is even slightly questionable (clips, etc.) it can be done. Most techs don't have the time or patience as they are being paid flat rate (they may have the skill), most hobbyists don't have the skill or patience (they may have the time). If you have the skill, time and patience, it's all very doable.

    By all means, listen to everyone in the thread and make your own decision. I don't think it is a good use of your time or money, but I also know it can be done. When these types of questions pop up, there's always a question about what the better way to go is. In this case, I would suggest starting with a Limited model and then adding the other items would be the way to build what some people really want. (I faced a similar question with regard to my Lexus - start with an IS350 and swap in a manual transmission or start with an IS250 manual and swap in a 3.5L engine. I did the latter).

    I know im a few years late to this form but did you ever find out if the dual climate bezel will work w the wiring. I agree w what you said. No intention on it being a true dual climate, just want it for the looks. But i have the same question, will the climate controll knobs work. Did you ever find anything? Thanks
