My bike got stolen.... It was chillin in my garage and I decided to take the pups for a walk an I was only gone like 10-15 mins down the street and came back and it was gone... Ok I know it was my fault for leaving my garage open but my neighborhood seemed legit and super cool but...no. Ef. Well looks like its time to upgrade to a full suspension or something. I didnt want it to go down this way. Anyway the bike that was stolen was a 2006 Specalized Hardrock Disc. No upgrades but still. It had sentimental value because it was given to be as a gift from my parentals. Well...sugar honey iced tea...

bastards! i hope they trip and have the pedal stab them. I would be on a mad hunt to find the fucker that did that.

check out the specailized xc full suspension. if you do xc which if you had a hardrock it sounds like you do, thats a decent bike, also the epic f.s. is a good one. the cannondales are nice but are pretty pricey

Ya i was looking on CL cause my budget isnt too crazy. Im talkin less than $1000. But ya XC is what I mostly do. I'm pretty stoked if I can get some cash out of it. But it makes me uncomfortable that someone in my neighborhood just waltzed right in an jacked my shit. Ya I was out for about an hour lookin to see anyone actin suspicious. Its a pretty small neighborhood too... Jerks..

That blows. I just got a new Specialized StumpJumper last year, and I would be PISSED to the max if it was stolen. I live in a very rural area, but I still keep it in a locked shed always, along with my 'yaks.

Well, look on the bright side..free (or partially free anyway) upgrade time!

I've been there before, and i hear ya.

I actually got 2 of my BMX bikes stolen from my High School back when bikes were the most expensive thing I owned and my daily rider.

I actually got the bike that I got stolen first back! I was riding my new bike and saw a guy riding the bike and followed him home. I called the police and they showed up and gave it back to me.

So there is some justice in this world...

But yeah that was my first BMX bike and had a lot of sentimental value to me and still does. I custom painted my name on it, so nobody in their right mind will steal it, and I'll keep it forever.

That sucks, I had almost the exact same thing happen about 10 years ago. Got back from a ride and put my bike (Kona Stinky Dee Lux) in the garage, left garage door open (garage door is in back of house away from street), went in the house to take a shower, and went back out to close the garage door 15 minutes later and bike was gone.

I called the Kona warranty dept to alert them that my bike had been stolen, and sure enough about 6 weeks later they received my bike as an attempted warranty claim (the theif was trying to get a brand new warranty replacement bike from Kona due to a small crack in the rear suspension yoke). I ended up getting the bike back, with some parts missing.

I would definitely report it to all the bike shops in the area that sell used bikes, and to Specialized warranty dept. Keep your eyes on the lookout on Craigslist and eBay, too. You never know.

    Bummer man.

Good idea about alerting them BenWA. I'll do that. But for now it's time to look for a full suspension XC. An this time i'm not gonna take any chances and close my doors.

That sucks. I had a GPS unit stolen from inside my truck while it was parked in my garage. The garage door was closed but the back door was unlocked.

A specialized Hardrock is a great bike. I just got back into biking and bought a Trek 3700. That's the most bike I dare buy. At my age I'll break bones more then components of the bike.

Damn I can't believe they stole that even tho the door was closed. Ef. I hate that when people work so hard for nice things just to get it stolen by some loser that truthfully isn't going to get anywhere in life being a lowlife theif...
