If you're ever planning a dive trip in Oregon or Washington post it up. I haven't been for a few years but would be great to go!

Just got it!! Last guy did a couple things.... some good, some bad.. Jump forward almost 2 weeks, I’ve put on a HS Off-road 2” lift kit with 5100s all around, new springs, and a AAL in the rear, with TRD 17x7” SEMA wheels wrapped in 255-80-17 Toyo Open Country ATs Installed InSight Retrofits HIDs, look friggin' sweeeet Husky Weatherbeater Action onboard
My wife and I dove the breakwater last November, it was great. Smooth surface, 15’ and green. Had a great couple dives. Monterey is a few hours, but I’m happy to make the trip. Let me know when you guys are heading out, even if I just head down he night before and camp in the truck!

I’ll look into, my wife and I would like to do a trip up the coast to visit some friends in Washington, and some dives along the way would make the drive way better!

I dive regularly during the week but I'm in Fl. I usually dive by my myself off the beach using steel 50 bottles. It helps heal my bad back being neutral buoyant.

Florence off the jetty is pretty cool and you can catch dungeness crab if the tide is good. We've dove Hoodsport in Washington a bit and it was fun too

Always have used aluminum tanks, and so far so good. Might be interesting to try steel sometime.

If you're in cold water, you're carrying the weight anyways, go steel.

Nitrox is useless above the 1st atmospheric level. I get 10%more volume of air over aluminum, the tank is slightly lighter than aluminum. And I only need around 5lbs of lead. All making it smaller light gear on my paddleboard

Not legal on scuba in any case. From what I've heard(gf's sister is in fish and game up in Ft Bragg) it's because of pressure from sea urchins whose natural predator starfish has been decimated by a disease so the urchins have been crowding out the abalone. Doesn't help when some douche comes along and pulls 100 of them but it's the urchins that have made it critical. Hopefully that imbalance will settle out and the population will rise to the point we can take them again.

I have all the gear including a couple tanks plus a spare reg though I'd like to add another layer up top for diving this far north. At this point I'm somewhere above 250 dives since being certified in '97. Scuba, que, and brew!

Just to be clear, I have never, and would never poach anything. All my abs have been taken legally whilst holding my breath. I don't even like spearfishing on SCUBA because I feel like it's not fair. You shoot a big fish holding your breath then I feel like you earned it; shooting one on SCUBA, they might as well be in a barrel. I've been freediving way more than SCUBA diving. I'm by no means an expert but I can freedive to100' (down and up) and I can work at 60'+.

I don't work with fish and game, but literally my best man does. I have nothing but the utmost respect for the people who are in charge of monitoring the health of our fisheries. I don't always like the decisions they make but I abide by them.

    Taken whilst FREEDIVING

Don't forget. You will need altitude tables-preferable that you're altitude certified.

The biggest haul came from over at the Stanford camp on Fallen Leaf Lake...lots of dinnerware and silverware. lol.

No dead bodies in Tahoe either...
