So today is exactly week numero 3 of me owning the Tacoma. This is my first truck ever so I guess I just haven’t experienced this before. Whenever I go somewhere, I always try to park way out in the booneys to avoid those idiots who just swing their door open or who can’t park their car without hitting something. Anyways, it seems like every time I go somewhere someone with a full size truck with some big ole tires and a big ole lift comes and parks directly next to me. Obviously Tacoma’s aren’t the biggest trucks and mine isn’t lifted or anything. I just find it funny because it seems like they are just trying to make their (ugly imo) trucks look super cool. I just think it’s funny because most of the time the dudes have gone all Honda Civic and Tokyo drifted the hell out of the vehicle and it just looks stupid. I’m sure others experience this I’m just wondering if anyone else finds it as entertaining as I do.

if I HAVE to park beside other cars, I park beside a truck hoping they’re the type who won’t ding my shit. I avoid sedans and mini vans like the plague haha. MAAAYBE thats the reason?

See that’s the thing though...I park in the middle of nowhere and there are always parking spots closer...even open areas that are easy to pull into. I personally just like to think they have small pee pee’s.

I take it as a compliment. They saw a nice truck and are trying to say, your truck is cool, but mine is better. I just listen to the 'your truck is cool' part and ignore the rest.

I park next to other trucks like that all the time, I see another truck and think "hey maybe that guy likes trucks and cars as much as me, lets go see what they got". I think you are taking this the wrong way, no one is trying to impress you and show off their dick size. Maybe a few are, but most are probably just enthusiasts (which you seemingly are not) who want to check out another truck, or show theirs off because they spent a lot of time and money on it.

Important fact for people these days : Just because you don't like something, doesn't mean the other person is a complete loser or has a small dick.

I think you're over thinking this. Personally I don't give a crap what others do with their vehicles. Their money.

I will also try and park away from the crowd though, for obvious reasons.

Funny story - I was enjoying a freshly brewed Timmy's one fine sunny Saturday morning a while ago, maybe two other cars in the whole lot. Elderly couple rolls up in their gleaming Dodge 200, and the gentleman driving was very careful to stick the landing exactly between the lines - RIGHT NEXT TO ME. His (presumed) wife proceeds to climb out, but she's kinda having trouble. She grabs the door frame to pull herself up/out, and in the process pushes it right into my passenger door. Not too hard mind you, but enough that I could feel it. I look over and my eyes meet the old guy's - he knows what just happened and I can see he's with me in spirit (their car is spotless). Wifey of course just waddles into the establishment without a second thought. I know why he didn't say anything to her - he had that look of defeat already.
Meh, I was a bit pissed at first - but what's the point in lighting up this old lady with a tirade. Hahaha, you try and avoid it but it happens anyway!

Yeah I think he probably is too. Just sounds too much like a Jalopnik commenter would for me. "Hey why do you need that truck like that, I don't need a truck like that, you can't possibly need that truck!"

My previous car was a 14 civic. I like to take care of my vehicles, and go out of my way to keep stuff from dinging it. What I can't stay away from unfortunately are teenage daughters and their bags of books and athletic gear. Every ding on that car in 4 years was from their fucking bags. Scrape the door, scrape the bumper, scrape the trunk. I got the access cab so I wouldn't have to take them anywhere anymore, and if I do, I load their bags.

Yeah man, I’ll park my truck far far away from other cars where there are about 20 spaces between me and the next car, and some person always comes in and ends up parking right next to me. I’m always like, wtf?

Well to the half that didn’t get what part of my post I was joking about....I was more complaining about people in general who park next to me when I’m blantanly trying to avoid other cars. I suppose my attempts are humor aren’t for everyone....

I don't mind parking next to mini van's, my wife has a Sienna and since the doors slide open for the kids there is little chance of any door dings. Now the adults opening the front doors it is another issue but most of the time mini vans are ok. I usually stay away from larger SUV's and sedans.

Meh, I think everyone here is a fan of humor. There's just not much that's funny here besides the same tired "huge Dodge must have tiny peen" jokes we've all been hearing since we were in elementary school lol
