I just coated my steel bumper with POR-15, with a top coat of rustoleum textured black. It looks great, and it should last a long time... it will also be easy to touch up (just give it a spray of rustoleum)

It would be about 4,000 miles round trip. But with my stop in CA and TX I'm looking at 5,600 miles  And you're right just did the calculations and it would be about $1000 for the 4000 mile part. ($900+100 for wheeling)

Nice! If all my shit wasn't PC'd already i would have done the same. Skids still need to be re-done so i might as well buy some of that POR now...

Damn man, i figured i would have the longest trip lol. I'm figuring have on hand at least $2000 for fuel, a couple nights in a hotel and food. Plus spare parts means this would be quite an expensive trip.. Gotta pay to play tho!

Yea, definitely want to keep it shiny side up! Thanks for the advice tho man, just wanted to make sure POR would hold up over a whole winter with a pile of salt on the roads. I got my new bumper coming soon and i'm debating whether to PC it or just use the POR. Sounds like the latter may be cheaper and a little better in the long run.... Easier to touch up too.

Finally got my Redline hood struts installed today! Also changed the oil and rotated all 5 tires...

Tomorrow i plan on replacing the struts on my Leer topper (the old ones are already rusting) and i'm going to clean the wiring up from my compressor install.

Yea install was pretty easy. They work really well.

    2 week count down, that's exciting! :D

If i picked you up close to PA and ya pitch me some gas, i bet this trip would get a whole pile more affordable for you! lol

Well, good things come to those who wait ;) and knowing Kevin, its going to be well worth it. To be fair, there was a serious complication halfway thru the build several months ago...

There has been very good news recently tho, stay tuned anytime now.

Oh, i'm also picking up a little something something for the truck this Sunday......:spy:

Patience for you and me both! Can't wait to see it. Will you have it on for the M&G?

Sorry about the tires - didn't think they were that great a deal... :(

I'm going to go ahead and verify this :)

Patience brings good things. I hate that he stepped away from the fab game, but I understand. He's just so damn good at it it's a shame.

x2, i agree, us Taco owners lost a really good fabricator. :( i must say tho, i'm glad i got most of his products before he got out of the business.

I had a feeling it was going to be you visiting him! lol Thanks for helping both of us out.

Thanks man, although I never really thought i had it in me but i know in the end it'll be well worth it. You'll see! :D

No, unfortunately i won't have it in time for the m&g. I'll also have to have it sand blasted and PC'd before mounting it but that won't take long.

No worries about the tires dude, i may have another trick up my sleeve. ;) We'll talk about it more this Sunday tho.

Whoa there now, not me. I'm just saying waiting on him is worth it :p

If he needs an extra hand though, he knows where to find me.
