So this obviously doesn't matter and I don't plan on doing it . but for shit's and giggles I tried doing a break stand. I know pointless . ..but anyway when I did try,I applied the bracket and than hit has peddle . We'll it started to spin for a split second not even a full rotation and stopped . .like it was made to not be able to?? anyway is that normal ?? thanks

The computer doesn't allow acceleration when the brake is applied. It's a safety thing.

Can you turn off traction control in 3 rd gens?

If you can, then you should be able to do the power brake thing if you want.

Still can't. Since those Camry & Prius incidents where those people accidentally hit the accelerator and brake at the same time, the computer literally locks out acceleration when the brake it applied at any pressure. Basically, the electronic notification of braking turns off the ability to accelerate.

    Thus, no brake stands.

Go get a '77 Camaro for that.

Yea they won't brake stand at all computer limits it even with all trac systems off. I'm kinda glad it won't let me for the sake of the truck cause I know it would do some insane donuts. If I have the urge the 01 Gets the abuse. lock diff (grey wire mod) in 2hi and dump clutch hit brake smoldering tire donuts. I know it's not the best for it so it doesn't happen too often and but just brake stand for a few seconds to get the tires going. That truck does terribly amazing donuts.

No worries. Some folks have a problem with grammar, but it's because of one particular infamous individual who types three-paragraph long sentences without punctuation, then insults everyone trying to help him.

    We've been burned.

TW really is a nice place (for the most part) and the membership (as a whole) is very knowledgeable and helpful.

Just don't ask if 37s will rub on a 3" lift. That's like throwing a virgin into a room full of vampires - it's gonna get bloody.

    Welcome to TW!

Hmm, can't say I've ever tried in the Taco. I did before getting new tires in my Tundra and it was 100% okay with it. 5.7L V8, 400 ft/lbs tq, tires ready to get recycled, trac/VSC off, no problem. It was a 2009 model and later after the prius gas/brake drama junk they released a TSB (SmartStop Tech or something like that) that would kill throttle if brake was applied at the same time. I made sure I never took it in for that the whole time I owned it, because that's just no fun.

My Taco struggles getting it to even spin the tires on hard acceleration, it pretty much can't even with traction control off. Only a chirp if going sideways. Meanwhile that Tundra would straight up smoke them leaving lines and all if you wanted, I do miss it from time to time.

But I bought a Camaro SS (LS1) in the meantime and it's way more fun for street driving anyway.
    :burnrubber:

I kind of want to try with everything turned off now... Haha.

Lol right just for the hell of it. but it is good thoufh cause it goes to show the traction this vehicle has. I used the truck to pull a 12 ft trailer fully loaded threw mud at this job and it went threw with no problems . just don't know why the rear diff lock light didn't stay on.making me think it isn't workinf. also the actuator in the transfer makes a lowd noise when going from 4 hi to two wheel drive.
