I found a local guy with some 4runner trail wheels and tires for sale. I am hoping I can fit them in my double cab short bed with leaving the factory tonneau cover on. Does anyone have insight to this dumb question lol

    Thanks!

Doubt it. Can you throw one in the cab. Maybe 3 will fit in bed covered

If you mean put them in your bed and close the cover, yes I don't see why they wouldn't fit.

The tonneau will fold up on two sections but the section closest to the back glass does not fold up towards the cab. The tonneau doesn't need to be covered, but didn't want to have to remove it.

They’ll fit with the back two sections folded up

Edit: are the tires mounted or are they separate?? I did the same thing with wheels and tires but they were mounted and I didn’t have any issues

They are mounted. They are 17" with 265/70/17 tires. I don't see why they won't fit but traveling an hour and a half, I would hate to get there and they not you know.

You’ll be able to angle them up a little giving you more room. If not bring a ratchet strap and leave the cover folder towards the truck and strap the 4th behind the cover on top of the 2 towards the rear. Shouldn’t be any problem to worry about. Or you could leave them standing up side by side. With the tonneau open it should fit between there and the tailgate and you can run a strap overtop or through the spokes to hold them in

I do not have the factory Tonneau but I have a tri fold one and had all 3 folded up to fit my 4 stock wheels and the spare in the bed. I would suggest that you bring something to tie down the wheels with. In my 5 mile drive home from Discount, there was a lot of shifting going on in my bed.

    Good choice on the wheels!

I have LB but had a bunch of extra room when throwing wheels and tires in back. You should be fine but as mentioned before, pack a ratcheting strap just in case.

@Ram.95 I happen to have a black truck as well. I love the look of yours! I am getting the wheels with the black accents.

You can probably fit them all in the bed. I needed to secure mine over night when I did something similar. I was able to put two in the bed (cover closed) and two in the cab.

@Ram.95 Did you use the 4runner tpms sensors when changing?

No, they used my stock ones. My wheels did not come with TPMS.

@Ram.95 Can you post a head-on shot? I believe 4Runner rims are slightly wider and slightly less offset (less backspacing).

Should be able to do better in the morning. I’m running 255’s so factor that in to the look of the width
