Saw another thread that reminded me of what I did when I was a teenager.
I'm at the point where I have changed out engines, replaced timing belts, replaced heads, etc etc, so its emarrasing to admit that when I was a teen:

I drove my first vehicle roughly 20,000 miles without checking or changing the oil. It was a 1986 Nissan Maxima and it burned oil, and it was so cool because it would talk to me. ("LEFT REAR DOOR OPEN", or , "KEYS IN IGNITION", instead of beeping like today's cars).

The engine seized up in the middle of a VERY BUSY street. Smack damn middle of the intersection!!!! i RAN to the gas station, put four quarts of oil in it, not like it helped, people honking form EVERY DIRECTION, engine never started again, but it did make the mechanic more confused when trying to diagnose how it seized haha.

    you?

    Haha that's a funny one.

Mine is making my first tube bumper thinking I'm a badass fabricator. Made it easy, put corners on it it sucked. Bolted it on at one point each, ripped off from driving. Since then I just ripped off my stock bumper and welded the new version on.

My first car was a 1991 firebird (fireturd). Doing my 2nd or 3rd oil change i cranked the oil filter on with all my strength. Then the next oil change i couldnt get the filter off, i eventually ripped the whole thing open like a can of anchovies with a oil filter wrench. After hearing me curse for a few hours my neighbor came out with another oil filter wrench and helped.
While all this was going on i had the car sitting on a scissor jack that began to slowly fail. Just as the scissor jack imploded into itself i was able to get a floor jack under the car.

I made a huge scratch on my tailgate while wiping bird poop. The poop scratched up my tailgate. It was so bad that it wouldn't buff out and scratch remover didn't work. After some research I found out you should soak or wet bird poop first before wiping.

Unhitched a trailer before chocking the wheels. Good thing my bumper was there to stop it. :(

Ive got two.. not sure of which one is worse..

First, I made the fatal manual transmission error.. I have been driving stick since I started driving and have never done this until about two months ago. I was in burger king, got my food, walked to my truck and got in. I cranked it up, let the emergency brake out and pulled it out of gear. Checked my food and I was missing a couple of things so without thinking I turned the truck off, hopped out, and headed back inside. I came back outside with my truck on the other side of the parking lot against the curb... I was incredibly lucky that there were no cars near me in the parking lot and all it did was run over to the curb and stop....... I just about shit on myself.

Second, I was installing wheel spacers and was late for my weekly handgun tournament. So I was rushing to get the spacers and wheels on so I could get on my way. My drivers side rear wheel I didn't even snug up the spacer lugs with my hand.. they were loose but the lugs holding the wheel on were torqued down.. Got down my driveway and turned right before I realized something was horribly wrong....

Just last week I kind of threw a 120 pound package of skid plates on my tailgate and broke both of my tailgate cables. The tailgate slammed into my bumper and put a crease along it.

I had an 08 tundra and was moving some furniture for my gf. I backed up to the deck and backed into the cornerpost, leaving a huge V in the tailgate. I figured I had nothing to lose so I took off the tailgate, laid it on the lawn and jumped up and down on it. it didn't look good but at least I could close it.

While chaining the oil on my old ranger I needed to roll it back a foot to get between it and my garage. Couldn't start it because I had already drained the oil but hadn't refilled yet.
So I jump in (with the truck off) put it in neutral and roll it back a foot. When I went to stop the brakes were super stiff because I didn't start the truck from the last time I pumped them. By the time I stomped the e-brake I had caught the (open) passenger door on the deck and bent it backwards around to the fender. Fack.

Failed to engage the parking brake on my 4 wheeler and it rolled down a small hill and right into the side of my truck.

My old 93 pickup had the clutch start switch on all the time so I could crank it without the clutch engaged. One day I was leaving for work and instead of getting in it I just leaned over the seat not realizing it was in gear. Truck started and proceeded to roll right into the wall of my house while I frantically tried to jump in and apply the brake. That caused quite a bit of damage. Had to replace the hood, cooling fan, and fan shroud.
