On a positive note, I like my new Wrangler Silent Armor's and was treated very well by Goodyear warranty when my previous Triple Treads didn't make the mileage warranty. I had 39K miles with 5/32nds left on the 60K tires and was given 50% credit based on the current Triple Tread price to apply to the Silent Armor's. Dealer thought he could work a 30% credit, Goodyear upped it.

Of course new tires are always different than old but I'm very happy with these. Very quiet and very good traction. It's apples and oranges so I don't know how the Silent Armor's stack up against other similar tires from other manufacturers but I can't fault my experience with the Goodyear mileage warranty.

I have no delusions that these will make the warranted mileage either, it's like the EPA mileage sticker, for comparison only, you're results may vary.

    I'll be buying Goodyear again!

I edited my original post and added a disclaimer for those who don't understand the difference between something that is literal, and figurative.

I lived in BC for almost a decade (Vancouver Island and Van City) and you're right, BC is the shit! I may even drive this truck out there within the next 2 years....On better tires of course. ;)

I lived in van city for 8 years and if it weren't for family here on the rock would still be there. Loved it immensely!

Me too man, me too. Came back for family and making the best of it. There are worst places to be for sure than here. :)

By the way, I wanted to mention that I filled up the truck this time with premium gas from Esso. Their website says that it contains no ethanol. So far the difference in power and smoothness is very noticeable so we'll see how it fares mileage wise. You may want to give it a shot tho to see if you notice a difference in your MPG.

Been down that road with no noticeable difference in mileage, just lighter wallet. Just filled up ...91.00 dollars and only 390km out of my last tank. The truck is going in on wednesday to get checked out and I will let you know how it goes.

Previous owner used to haul heavy loads, so he put an AAL on it and TRD front suspension with a lift and custom rear suspension for added weight capacity. I recently installed a tow package (Curt with lifetime warranty) So i will definitely see what this thing can handle as far as weight goes.
I was at a stop sign on an incline with a tiny amount of gravel on the side of the road and some morning mist, and she started slipping! There's no excuse for that. - Dunlop Grand Trek a/t 20's

Please do. Just a point of reference for you, I just calculated my MPG from my first tank of gas. I went 406km's on 72 litres of fuel. So approx 13.5MPG. I also drove that thing like grandma pretty much the whole time. About 80% city - 20% Highway. So not much better at all, if any. If I had of driven it normally, and not like grandma, I wouldn't have done any better than you. Can't wait to hear what they have to say to you.

I'd try cleaning the MAF. If you rev these trucks AT ALL your fuel economy goes down the drink. When driving, try changing gears at 900-1200 rpm......all day.

OP I was in the same boat as you a couple months ago. Even had a thread about how I almost died. They do suck in the snow. Rain too. If you have not got new tires yet get them. I got some Cooper Discoverers ATP (?) from discount tire and could not be happier. I was able to sell the Dunlops and get half of my money back. Also go bigger. 265/75. They look so much better.

MAF clean on a new truck with less than 2000km? Really? Shifting at 900-1200rpm? Really? You're using sarcasm right?

Hey guys, just filled up tonight with Esso premium tonite. This will be my fifth tank of premium in a row, trying to figure if it's worth the extra $$ as well. Last 2 tanks I have got almost 460 kms on 63 litres (a few longer trips).

The plan is to switch back to regular and compare numbers.......

Awesome info man. I was definitely thinking about going a little bigger as well. Thanks for letting me know you are happy with your Coopers! :)

I also just checked out the thread you mentioned. Good to know I'm not alone in this. I know these aren't snow tires, but I was shocked at how quickly they broke loose on me. They gots ta go!

Check out the general Grabber AT2's. I've ran them all winter here in calgary, and they are reasonably quiet on the dry hwy too. I likem. Might be a little too agressive for 95 on road tho. Canadian tire will sometimes have them for buy 3 get 1 free.

Mastercraft HSX . Same wear warranty as Michelins but almost half the price. Snow, mud wet, dry, gravel or pavement. I've had the mastercrafts on all of my vehicles with no worries. 80% on road, 20% gravel/dirt road on my farm. Just my preference as what works for me, and we all have different needs.

I can agree with that. I can't wait to get new tires, but I'm not spending $1k on tires while my dunlops are still good.

I just ran the Dunlops in 6-8 inches of snow on Friday, up and down winding hills and roads on my way to work, and they performed flawlessly. . . And it was freaking dumping snow.

44k miles on the original dunlops.
Never hydroplaned once that wasn't my fault.

Snow and slush they have performed as well as any other tire I have had. Was just up at Mt. Hood this week-end where Timberline Road was closed except for chains and traction devices and I motored all over the place with no issues.

This included some screwing around in 2WD, 4WD cookies....(when the trac control would let me).

ABS has never tried to kill me either though.

Never had any issues with my 2007, 39k on original tires through several Utah winters driving 25k miles in 1 year in it, zero issues either.

I guess I drive differently than most.
