So I have some TRD sport rims that I want to paint black. But since truck bed liner is easier to work with than paint, and more durable in my opinion, I have gone towards that way. But before I get started, I wanted to know how I should prep the wheel before I spray it and then how many coats and such I should spray on the wheel to make it stay and to prevent chipping/scratching. And is it fine if I spray on the wheels with the wheel weights on em? Thanks for the help guys.

I would wonder how it will be when you change a tire, will that paint just peel off? if not it would be pretty cool lookin

Clean them really well with steel wool, dishsoap, and make sure they are bone dry and residue free. I used 4 coats of rattle can rusto on my wheels and they have yet to get any chips. I would think 3-4-5 coats of bed liner would be plenty.
