Ordered the black overlays that go over the chrome badges from the sale, anyone know what type of cleaner I need to use on the chrome badges in order for the black to stick to them ?

Just got my OEM Emblem overlay/covers and Tailgate insert. Going to install them tonight. I'm guessing wiping them down with some rubbing alcohol should be enough.

You could probably wipe it with isopropyl alcohol to give you a nice clean surface.

Just finished the install... was very easy although the packaging of the OEM tail gate letters is very annoying to deal with. I used rubbing alcohol to wipe the surfaces down with a towel. Waited a moment for them to dry and all went smoothly. They adhesive seems very strong on these OEM emblem overlays.

Finally got mine from the dealership (part of my deal). Took all of 5 minutes for the two side and 1 tailgate emblem overlayes. Used rubbing alcohol to clean. They seem like they are stuck on for good! Have the SR5, Limited and 4x4 overlayes available for sale if anyone is interested.

I cleaned mine with alcohol before install last year, they have been thru all kinds of weather and still look great.
