    Hi,

This is my first post on here...

Long story short, I think I need a new rear bumper, although it's possible that I could try to snap it back into place.

We got a few inches of snow last night and live on a fairly busy road. We had taken the trash and recycling bins out and placed them to the right of my truck bc they are picked up early in the morning. My best guess based on these dents and the way the bumper sort of popped off is that someone went off the road a bit and hit the trash can, driving it into the bumper--an indirect hit. The trash had already been picked up by the time I noticed this, so I don't know what the "scene" looked like if this was indeed what happened. The bumper was already a bit rusty, as you can see.

Anyway, I'm looking for suggestions on a cheap, good-looking bumper, preferably rust-resistant. I would either want to match the bumper to the body color or get a steel one with a matte black powder-coat finish, although that might be more than I would want to pay. I don't need any features, just a basic bumper. Would love some suggestions!

    Maddie

You're gonna have to crawl under there to figure out what is damaged. Then your replacement needs will be more clear.

You may need more bits & pieces than just the covering.

I know this isn't answering your direct question, but if you have comprehensive coverage on your auto insurance plan I would think this would be covered under that (although if you have a high deductible it might make it cost prohibitive).

Here's one with 3/16" steel. Cheapeast I've seen, there's quite a few members that have bought BA products.

I'm sure you already thought about this- but look in the classified section for a 'take off' bumper. I damaged my bumper last winter when I backed into a parking barrier, it wasn't worth the effort to try to straighten my junk. I found a bumper and arranged a Tacoma Express delivery and got a mint chrome rear bumper to replace my damaged rusty black painted one for cheap.
