I was leaning towards Wildpeak's given the price - but I've been offered Duratracs for about the same price (big discount). Now Im thinking I should go with the Duratracs, right?

Has anyone out there tried both?

If you're not rock crawling and you can get Duratracs for Wildpeak money, do it.

    Edit-
I've run both. The Duratracs are much better in the snow and the mud, but do have a little more road noise. The sidewalls on the Falkens are probably a little bit stronger, but if you're not playing around in the rock gardens you won't notice.

My off-roading is mild/tame at best. Thanks for the reply!

When I had my Duratracs & G2 Tacoma I drove the roughly 50 miles from my parent's house to mine in a Western Maine snow storm with 6-8 inches of standing snow on the roads in 2wd, no weight in the back. I never shifted into 4x4 until I stopped to pull a car out of a ditch, and once I had them out I switched it back to 2wd and finished the trip. They really are awesome tires in the snow.

Can't speak to wildpeaks but I have found duratracs to be good in three seasons but not great in snow and horrible on hard packed snow and ice.

Ive run both as well. I like my falkens. Duratracs are probably better in snow and mud as mentioned above, but falkens are awesome for on road wet weather performance. Sidewalls are definitely better on the falkens. Another reason I chose the falkens was they offered P rated in 285-70-17. Its been fine everywhere Ive gone.

I've run both. I can't believe Goodyear sells tires with that low build quality. They wore unevenly despite a perfect alignment and were next to useless in the wet. They were okay in the snow. My falkens have honestly treated me a hell of a lot better. I've got the four-ply sidewall so they're not terribly stiff for towing or anything but aired down ever so slightly there's no amount of snow that'll stop them. And I drive for DOT so I have to come in during storms in the middle of the night.

So there's my three and a half cents. And a bag of chips. Good luck op!

Better tires for the same price? No brainer.

All I hear is complaints about Wildpeaks wearing out too soon.

P.S. My Duratracs have the 3 peak snow designation, and have been great in the snow. So much so, that I sold off my dedicated winter tires.

I've heard complaints about that on the internet, but a huge chunk of the Midwestern groups all run wild peaks and nobody's complaining about them there. Maybe it's just different driving for different regions?

    Like, so many.
Duratracs were on my short list before I opted for NRGs. I think they are both good tires with the off road performance going to the Duratracs and the on road performance going to the Falkens.

Audible I’ve had duratracs wore awful but not a bad tire just not worth the money.

I have cooper stt pros now worth every penny, only 5 pounds more then my duratracs and same mpg.

Never had Wildpeaks, but I have Duratracs now and I like them. They are a bit loud, but they're good in inclement weather/offroad and grip nicely on dry pavement.

My Duratracs wore awful and they were loud as hell. I have wild peaks now and they have handled everything I can throw at them so far

I got 265 75 16 load C duratracs. I like em. They have been said to have a weak sidewall so I snagged 4 sets at 630 from discount tire with certs on all 4 just in case

If you're looking at the Duratracs, look at the GY Wrangler Ultra Terrains; made specific for Discount tire. They appear to be a little more road friendly but equally as beefy and capable as the Duratrac. They've been getting really good reviews.

If both same price go Duratracs n dont look back. They are superior to falkens. Falkens are good for the right price. Ran em all, and am on Thunderer TracGrip MT load e currently

Got wildpeaks for 35k so far. Good on and off road. No noise after all these mileage. My coworker had durs good tire. After 25k, hella road noise. Like MT status road noise. Both are tires are SL not LT

Most of the trucks on my block run Duratracs, informal survey (I don't have them). The Duratracs looks better over the wild peaks.
