I would go Duratrac's. Just keep in mind they like to be rotated often (Every 5k kms).

    I only had duratracs.

Amazing tire in the deep snow and offroad. I was not impressed in wet on road traction, it is a hybrid tire after all. The sidewall rubber seemed a bit soft and the tires made a bit of a hum on the highway. Dont think ill buy them again if doing mostly city driving. They are a great looking tire though!

Will agree that they were pretty bad on wet pavement. Ko2s are much better in that regard.

Could never get them to balance. They were inherently out of round. And I feel like they wore quickly.
Winter performance was mediocre at best (yes I know its not a dedicated winter).

local off roaders here call them duracraps. and for good reason - sidewall failure while off roading. I have the WildPeaks - no issues and 30K miles on them. Only other tire I would consider as a replacement is the Michelin AT2 (which are a butt load more expensive).

I’ve had both on several different trucks over the years. I have the Duratrac’s right now. Wish I had stayed with the Wildpeaks. I am basing this mostly on daily driving habits. The duratracs are louder and do not ride or handle as well. I don’t know how they perform in snow yet but I know wildpeaks are fantastic.

If I could do it again.... I’d get the Wildpeaks.

Wildpeak came on my truck when I bought it, I absolutely hated them.. mine were super loud, had radial pull. I run toyo open country ats now and it’s like night and day..

I like the look of the wildpeaks but have had terrible luck with falken tires. The yokohamas I have now are much better.

Lesson here op, there is no answer. You need to go with what your gut tells you. You will find fans of both here on TW. You will find haters or both. Tbh, love my WP, love my KBRO2, wouldn't 4un any other tires. But same can be said for others with different opinions

I love my Wildpeaks. 15K miles and still looking good. I'm not expecting to get like 50K+ miles out of them for the price I paid. When they do wear out, I'll probably get some kinda 17" rims and C-load KO2's to try, as I like to switch it up.

All our work Tacomas have E load Duratrac's. They are great off-road, and having E-loads is nice since our work trucks are on rough, rocky roads doing field work probably 90% of the time, but damn are the Duratrac's loud on the highway, especially after they have worn abit. Riding in a work Taco with the Duratrac's vs. my taco with Wildpeaks is like a night and day difference in road noise.

Careful when tires go on discount at a large retailer. Its usually because they are not first run tires and quality is suspect. Wild peak is always a least expensive choice and a decent tire. But careful when expensive popular tires are really cheap. There's usually a reason and people outside the industry don't know little things like that.

    Just something to consider.

I guess its possible but then it would be just as easy to sell seconds as firsts too. Nobody would notice.

Anyways if you’re paranoid what you do is print out the ad from the super discount store and take it someplace reputable and get them to price match.
