I am running 29 psi. With E rated tires and lift 285 your mpg is going to be shit regardless.

Getting great wear on mine. I am running BFG's at the moment. I have ran higher and it did not make much of a difference. The heavy ass tires are a big culprit.

E Rated, had super bad mileage as I live 5 mins from work. I average 16-17 L/100km, bad as a tundra.

I do mine based off the rise in temp which is a reflection of pressure.

Measure your tire pressure cold, then take a trip down the interstate several miles to get them hot. Recheck the pressure and if the pressure has increased by more then 10% you need to put more air in your tires.

If your pressure hasn't rissen at all then you have too much air in your tires.. which is why most tire shops mostly error on the side of over inflation. Thus the maximum sidewall pressure indicated on the tire is usually used. It usually is more than needed but required pressure will change with rather or not a rig is loaded or not.

Tires go togeather with heat and come apart with heat.

When cold, the pressure is at 36, and when warmn its at 41. So since it's greater than 10%, i should put more air in?
What's the consequence (if any) if i do not?

Just to clarify; 'warm' would be at least 55 mph for at least 10 minutes, during moderate ambient temps, on a straight highway.

It is not 5am vs 3pm.

Now for the switch up. What do you run them off-road?

If the tire gets too hot it could potentially come apart... tire inflation will increase or decrease by about 1 PSI for every 10 degrees change in air temperature.

I only take it down to the high 20's. Works great so far

Interesting. I usually run about 18 when I am in the rocks. I have done low 20s when I am going to be on dirt roads that might have some smaller obstacles but will have to air up to get back on pavement in a shorter distance. Am thinking about trying out 15 in a couple days when in the mountains.

I've also considered this too, but havent really ran into issues yet with psi in high 20s. I do drive in a lot of forest roads with gravel, rocks, ruts, and potholes. will give it a try to see if theres any difference besides the decreased mpg

Hell, if I am off-road the last thing in my mind is mpg. I just want to test the different grip

Depends on load, speed, ambient temp, road condition and how much you want to use your tires to smooth it out. I run a lot of rough badly paved or unpaved roads around 50 to 60 mph, and like to keep pressure down to 28-30 cold to save my butt & kidneys and be able to control drift. If I load the truck to rated max, I need at least another 7 pounds, especially in the rears, same for running at 70 or more. Too much air with a light load and the tires skip when trying to do controlled drifting or heavy braking or washboards on a curve. In sand or mud or rock, drop down to 15 psi or so, but gotta air up before hitting the tarmac.
I used to truck excessive loads across India in the 70's in big rigs, and tires were crude and roads were miserable & hot hot hot in summer. Tires would literally melt, we'd have to keep speed low and take a half hour break each 90 minute stretch to let them cool. There would be long lines of big trucks waiting for tires to cool along the roads. And tires cost a fortune on black mkt.

Nice, thanks for that. Painful video to watch with all that wind but great. Ill have to try it out and see how mine changes. Right now I am wearing well at around 29 all around. Curious to see if I drop it in the rear lower or increase.

I ran 12-14psi, they sure drive nice with less air! Takes forever with my tiny pump. I deflate to only 20 when I'm just doing logging trails.
