I have gone through 2 sets of duratracs on gen2.
Bought a gen 4 yesterday and when several local tire dealers
look up original duratracs they are obsolete and I
do not think i want duratrac RT.
What have duratrac lovers switched to ?
    regards

I've had the original duratracs and I can say I think the new version is a big improvement. Why not go RT?

I thought they changed the tread pattern away from the orig.
After youtube vids I am onboard again.
In my old gen 2 I chose load range C for 2 sets.
My days of agressive mudding are behind me, but
I do still have 4x4 for light farm work.
I am thinking of load range xl , due to 5 foot bed
and will not haul more than 500 lbs short distance around town
and a light trailer with never more than 1000lbs short distances
    around town.
Anyone running XL and wish they had bought C rated ?
    regards

Seems like the most popular/direct competitor to the Duratrac is the Falken Wildpeak AT3. Probably what I will choose for my next set. I've had no issues with my Duratracs but wouldn't mind saving $100 or so and just to try out something different. People seem to like them a lot

I decided to try the duratrac RTs.
    265/70r/17.
They fit the gen2 well, but look small on the gen4.

What do you mean by obsolete? I'm still seeing them available on the Goodyear website as well as at Discount Tire, in stock and ready to go.

EDIT: Looks like they may only have E load nowadays. Maybe that's the issue. That's what I run, since I'm so heavy. Definitely not for everybody.

Not sure if the C load have the revised 3-ply sidewall with Kevlar, but if they did that's a no brainer.
