With the durobump stops for the front - do you NEED to keep the OEM front set or can you remove those as well? (You remove the rear set to mount the duros)

Yeah, and doesnt really specify anything about the front. I have a front one thats super wobbly from the tack nut being broke, would love to just cut it out.

    I'm sure you can.

I take my rig off-road though and I keep the fronts on as a backup "stop" since the Durobumps compress really well.

I'd like to keep them from compressing even more than they're supposed to though.

@eon_blue had broken the rear nut on his LCA and believe it or not, his JBWeld held on for a long time until he replaced his LCA.

Technically you're supposed to keep the front bump, as the durobumps compress more than the OEM rubber, and so they are sort of a "progressive" bump down to the OEM, which keeps the LCA from going up too far (at which point your shock becomes the "bump" and that's no good).

Hmmmm, JB Weld... not my typical route to go with things. But it wobbles enough for me to lift it - could probably get a bunch around the stud and a little under the plate and clamp it.... probably would hold pretty well

Yeah the Durobumps are for the rear of the LCA only. In fact, back when the guy that makes them was active on TW, he was adamant about ONLY putting them on the rear of the lower arms...because some people were asking about buying two sets to put on the front as well. I don't remember exactly why . I'm not sure if running without the stock bump in the front though would be a good idea.

I did have my Durobump JB Welded in place for a long time because the weld nut snapped, the JB weld works great as long as nothing whacks the bump stop from the side.

I finally got a new lower arm though so I don't have to do that any more lol.

Make sure your spotter has a good eye; I remember watching his come off when we were wheeling.

Actually, it was the one I let him borrow

Yeah was a zip tie fail though.... Didn't give the JB weld enough time to set and dry lol. That feeling of hitting your LCA with no bump stop on...Don't ever want to do that again

Was that same feeling of coming down hard on your sliders, definitely not good for anyone or the poor suspension

Yeah screw that; I'm glad I've never felt that.

Hell, the rear end feels even better cause those bumpstops really compress. Here you can see just how long they are -

I've been happy with the Wheelers ones in the rear but I got those before Duros were even on the market. No issues with the Wheelers ones ripping, my Duros up front have. But the guy was really cool about sending me another free of charge. When I lost one too he sent me a pair. Great customer service at least in my experience

Yeah I remember that, awesome customer service for sure.

I too ran those Wheeler's on the Tacoma; no complaints but they do feel a bit firmer than the Durobumps.
