What do Delayed wipers have to do with automatic headlights?

My 2023 SR5 DC V6 has them and they weren't part of an options package.

Lol, that isn't a new feature. My 2006 Dodge with zero options had the lights on wipers on function.

In terms of Toyota, that is new. They take forever to put features in. That was my point. Android/apple auto apps aren't super new either, but it took until 2020 for the Tundra to see it. How long did it take for power seats to hit the Taco? Power seats are older than I am.

Not at all. I'm not endorsing or lauding their business model. I was explaining it. Every manufacturer gets stuff right. Every manufacturer gets stuff wrong. You just have to choose what wrong things you'll accept to get the right things that you want.

So understanding that nothing is perfect and choosing what fits what I want best means I'm coping? With what? We all have the same basic vehicle. We all have things we wish it did or didn't do. Are we all coping then? I'm not out here saying anything is perfect. I'm not sure where people are thinking I'm drinking kool aid just because I'm not raging about the things I don't like. It's the same basic list of dislikes that everyone has, and Toyota 100% could have fixed/not made the mistakes to start with. I'm just not going to beat my head on a wall wailing about it because I understand their thinking. Try as I might, I cannot wish Toyota into being groundbreaking and cutting edge. They never will be.

It was standard equipment from Dodge...DODGE...since before the first iPhone even existed. There's no excuse.

(Believe me, I get your point, just throwing gasoline on the fire.)

Just for the record, and not related to the argument taking place...

There's also a setting in your Vehicle Settings under Lighting - where you can change the "sensitivity" of the auto-on.
I turned mine all the way down because I noticed my actual headlights were coming on a lot when it was just cloudy outside...
I feel that the LED surrounds are really bright anyway so I didn't want my actual headlights coming on unless they were actually needed.

Right, so buy a Dodge? Or, as I said, are the wrong things there not worth the right things?

You can control the sensitivity in the head unit in the truck. I just bumped mine up to +1

Do you have Automatic Headlight, or Auto High Beams?

Download the users manual to see how the auto headlights work. My 2023 OR came with them standard. There's a push button in the lower left of the dash.

That sounds like you have Auto High Beams, the Automatic Headlights are up on the Headlight Switch.

Odd. My 2020 OR DCLB has auto option.

Edit: Mine shows "DRL" for the first option on the stalk.

I bought a fucking truck that had the features on it that I wanted. I could have bought pretty much anything I wanted. I chose a Tacoma TRD off road with zero options. It's what I wanted. I could have bought a Denali or I could have bought a Ford F350 Platinum or I could have bought a Tacoma completely loaded. I chose what I wanted. So, don't bitch because there is a truck that will fit your ass somewhere. Suck it up and quit complaining.

Uh... I'm not bitching? Did you quote the wrong person? For the record I bought the exact truck I wanted and I love it. All I've done in this thread is try to get those who are complaining about "missing" features to see that there is no perfect truck and you just have to pick based on your priorities. Being able to rationally discuss the topic is apparently frowned upon here, as I'm either being accused of "making excuses and drinking kool aid" or "bitching." Opposite sides of the fence, yet somehow I am on both. This is the most bipolar paradoxical thread I've seen yet.
