I'am rebuilding my shocks, I got one of them done with no problem. But for some reason on this one I can't even get the damn dust cover off. The set screw is not in and the cover just keeps spinning. Anyone have any suggestions? The shock is a 2.5X18" smooth body with reservoir

    Thanks

Is compressed air fine? I don't have a nitrogen tank.

Yes that's fine...it will be gone when you get the cap off anyway and rebuild them

    To be announced
Try pulling up on the rod to put some tension against the dust cap while you try to spin it off. It might take 2 people and it's probably gonna be either really stubborn or feel like it's cross threaded coming off

I'm not sure how old they are, I recently bought a 88 Toyota pickup with them on it.

awesome. Best thing about good shocks like Kings, they have a nearly unlimited lifespan. Rebuild or replace parts as necessary. You can get all the individual pieces from King directly.
