Dust on filtered side of air box, likely due to drain hole.

Just inspected my air filter for the first time in about 5k miles and found quite a bit of dust on the filtered side. I haven’t looked into removing the secondary carbon filter, which seems to be a popular mod, but hopefully mine has been keeping this stuff from getting into the engine.

Going to go buy a small filter to screw into the drain hole from the outside of the box.

 

That looks like the side before the filter.

 

Agreed. The bottom side is outside of the filter.

BTW, keep the drain hole, that gets water out in the off chance you get any in there.

 

Top part of the air box is the filtered air side...you got them mixed up bro
