It's fuckin annoying that we have to buy a whole kit for one new piece. I'm gonna use RTV because I can't buy just the gaskets. I'm trying to go wheeling this weekend too, but the weather has stopped my progress for the last three days.

:woot: finally searched for individual spindle gaskets and ordered a couple.

I guess the wiper ring only comes in a kit and it's hard to find, and $15-20 for one side. That sucks if you can't find em lol

I may have to take the one from the old axle and find one for it.. Look for a guy with a bunch of left over axles parts etc and they might have one

Went out about 9:30 last night and worked till 12:30.. Got a lot knocked out.

Worked ALL day today on it and got a whole lot done..

    - Axle is completely together besides the hubs.
    - Cut inner fender for high steer and cleaned both fender wells and painted them.
    - Cutt junk of the frame and cleaned it all up.

Tomorrow I hope to bolt the axle up and hopefully get high steer on. All I gotta do is drill the holes and weld it up..

Drilling the holes and drilling them in the right spot is easier said than done... lol

I'll get a pic with the brakes on there today.

My goal today is to get the hubs and brakes on and the axle bolted back in place. Got a dentist appointment at 8:30 and class at 1:00-3:00.. So sometime today.

High steer after work Thursday and Friday to finish up the little stuff..

And then I'm going up Boatramp on 31x10.5s Saturday :D

Do you mind sharing what all you needed/used for that brake setup? I'm trying to sell some parts I don't need and I would like to do that brake setup while I have everything apart, if I can scrape up the money.

Tacoma rotors - V6 pickup calipers

FJ80 master cylinder (ordered it from LROR like $120)

I'm running IFS hubs now and you have to run them to do this swap.. Otherwise I think you can use a V6 calipers and some other rotor as an upgrade.

I also went with a longer wheel stud from a Toyota Matrix due to the slip on rotor vs the old bolt on the back..

For the rear, I bought the Trail Gear rear disk brake kit..

Cool, I already have the 80 MC and t100 booster.

I'm picking up my taco rear axle on Saturday, I'm going to keep those drum brakes, for now anyway.

Had you just been using spacers in the front?

Yea, 1.5" spacers to match my IFS rear. If I do the taco brakes, I'll have to modify my trailer unless I get different wheels, lol. I'll be around 80" wide as it is and my trailer deck is 81.5".

Just use some square tubing and add a little to the trailer on each side.. Mine is gonna be tight on our trailer..

Have a Yukon 2500 6.0 as a tow rig now. It's my parents for towing our camper, but they rarely use it. Said I can tow whenever as long as I keep up the maintenance..

It's amazing how much I've changed with this build. I used to wanna keep it nearly stock and clean and NEVER tow.. Now I can't wait to tow so I can beat it to death!

Found a kit that has the metal seal saver ring that I lost..

Its the Wiper Kit from Cruiser Outfitters.. I stole the rings from the old axle so I'll have to order some new ones for it cause my brother bought it and is using it to SAS his '94 Pickup... and i didn't tell him I took them :D
