Yes.. I'll have F&R 5.29s paired with Spartan lockers..

Have a weekend ride July 17th and hope to have the lockers in by then.. I'd already have them, but had to pay 2000 for summer classes last week..

Let me rephrase that.. I have a weekend ride at Windrock in TN and hope to have them done by then..

I have about 5-6 scheduled rides with the group I help moderate before then.. that's just gonna be the big summer trip..

    Brought this home tonight:

And in just a few minutes with the trusty torch:

It will be getting built and swapped it!

Just wondering why you're swapping the axles? Probably a post I missed here

I'm swapping in an IFS rear axle because it is 3 inches wider overall.. I went ahead and ordered a rear disk brake conversion and all new bearings and seals for it.. I have the disk brakes and the bearings/seals are coming today. I've already welded the diff cover on.

I bought another axle for the front because this is my daily driver and I want to be able just to swap an axle in without having any down time... It's getting a truss, diff cover, all new wheel bearings, trunnion bearings, seals, u-bolt flip, high steer, knuckle and steering stop gussets. I'll be swapping in some IFS hubs with Tacoma rotors and V6 calipers to make it 3" wider (the IFS hubs do that) and it'll brake as good as the rear.

I'll be upgrading to an FJ80 master cylinder at the same time..

I have all of those parts but the V6 calipers, knuckle ball gussets, and a diff cover (meant to use it on the front but got bored and welded it on the rear).

Both those axles will be regeared to 5.29s with Spartan lockers.. I'll hopefully be ordering those next week.

So it's starting to finally come together.. As soon as I order 5.29s, my next paycheck with order a set of 35" MTRs

I'll also be welding on a new front hanger, which I already have, and moVing my axle another 5/8" forward.

I also have already built a new RUF pack For the front. Waiting to go on.

Will a larger brake booster fit on a 1st gen? I have a T-100 dual diaphram booster, it bolted right up in my 4Runner, but I think your pickup is different. It's worth some research IMO since you are upgrading the MC.

Yeah it'll fit.. I just heard it makes the pedal like really hard and short.. I may upgrade it later if I feel like the master cylinder isn't enough

Got the old bearing pressed out..

    New axle seal pressed in:

    New bearing pressed in:

Cups all cleaned and painted with new seals and bearings:

Forgot to get a picture when I pressed the bearings cups onto the axle shafts..

    TADA:

I won't install the brake lines until I put it in the truck.

Now I just gotta regear the differential, install it, a little paint, and the rear axle will be all done.. Now to fully rebuild the front axle!

Nothing as of now. Barely have one now.. 4LO and 1st gear will be my E-brake for awhile.

I may do a line lock or transfer case E-brake eventually.

I suck at updating this build..

    Bought 5.29s and lockers.

Got a DD Honda Civic yesterday so my truck will go down for some MAJOR upgrades. Can't wait.

Been so freaking busy between work, summer classes, and clinicals that I haven't even had time to walk into the shop since Saturday morning..

However, I picked up some Chevy 63s Sunday

Gonna try and get them mounted up Saturday morning if I have time..

Front axle is all tore apart too.. Gotta buy V6 calipers, knuckle ball gussets, and diff armor and throw it back together with the new 5.29s.

Knuckles and IFS hubs cleaned up and painted

Truck sitting in the shop with no bed, no gas tank, or rear anything actually. Its waiting on me to put in the new rear axle and suspension.

I also bought an engagement ring for the ole lady Saturday.. Talkin about cleaning out a saving account.. Gonna have to recoupe a little before I buy tires.
