Just got back from a vacation in Louisville. Valet parking only but nobody could drive a stick. Ended up taking a photo of the barcode they use to enter/exit the garage so they didn't need to ride in/out with me. They were apologetic and removed all parking / Valet charges from our bill at least.

My wife does this, absolutely will not listen when I tell her it's bad for her car. Somehow has not blown a transmission, Yet.

Once drove a Model T Ford. Had “bands” and a pedal like a clutch, but different. Also the shifting was different. Not many people remember how to drive one of those anymore, and they were the most common car on the road 100 years ago.

Why is this surprising? Barely any new vehicles are manuals.

This thread will just be a bunch of old guys talking about how shitty and lazy the "new" generation is and how everything was so much better.

I'm sure your parents knew how to do a ton of stuff you don't know how to do now. Things change. Manuals are old, and outdated, tech.

I have not had a problem at the Toyota dealer or the car wash, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I did someday soon. I have not ever valet parked an automobile with a manual transmission.

I dunno, being high on pot actually makes you a very cautious driver.

Now weed mixed with booze/coke/shrooms etc while driving yes, that’s dangerous.

A CVT is similar. Lots of cars have those now, but not Tacomas.

I never wanted some HS kid working valet to park my ride anyway. Auto or manual, truck or sports car.

Can’t say that is a problem here.
The majority of the guys here started on a manual transmission.
Most high school kids here still “tease” the guys with an automatic.

Even my niece, who is 16, wanted a manual transmission for her for car.

The problem is, no one really knows how diagnose here.
The few who can are over worked, and truthfully, they are older guys.

Been drive a manual for 62 years you need to be smarter than the transmission to drive one.

Man I was in Santa Cruz once and this person had to be high doing like 35 in the 65. Stupid old Mercedes probably couldn’t even rattle and choke its way to 65 anyway.
