So recently my 09 Tacoma hit 157,000km (97,000miles) and i started to get a rattle coming from under the driver's side door area while the vehicle was warming up or under light acceleration. Under inspection i found that the source of the rattle was the heatshield around the catalytic converter which had broken apart from rusted bolts holding the 2 pieces of it together. Rather then remove the heatshield which probably wasn't a good idea or replace it with a new one for who knows how much i came up with a DIY fix.

All you need is 3-4 medium sized (2in or any size you can get just be prepared to buy more/less due to size) hose clamps which you can get at any auto parts store for dirt cheap (i bought more just to be safe) and a screwdriver to match the hose clamp screw, in my case it was a flat head.

And basically what i did was attached all 3 of them together and wrapped them around the middle of the headshield and tightened each side as much as it would and the rattle disappeared, it's since been 3 weeks and I've had no issues.

When i originally had this issue i could not find a post regarding it easily so i decided to make this to help all of you out who also have this issue. Good luck with the fix!
