I've got this annoying squeezing chirp noise that is driving me nuts. It is going almost 24/7 but goes away immediately when I push the clutch in. Anyone have this before and know how I can get rid of it? Reminds me a bit of a squeaky belt but has to do with my clutch or something. Got some dealership extended warranty through February so if it's something driveline related I'm fully covered.
    Thanks,
    -Chris

You say it stops with the clutch in.

Does it also happen in neutral with the truck stopped and the clutch out?

If it's covered bring it in. Sounds like the infamous throwout bearing.

Sorry for the lag on response guys but does anyone know if a bad throw out bearing is covered under the power train warranty? IF not anyone know how much it costs to replace?

Best to ask your dealer, but IIRC, several members have had theirs replaced under powertrain warranty. There is a TSB to follow for your '08 that involves replacing the slave cylinder, clutch release fork, as well as the bearing and likely the bellhousing as the integral guide stub wears.

Out of warranty, then use the URD bearing and sleeve kit. Expect +- 6 hours labour if 4wd, a bit less if 2wd. May as well inspect the clutch well at the same time, and replace if needed.

If in warranty on powertrain still than you should be covered. Oherwise i agree with suggestion above. Mine did this, dealer replaced then it came back after a while, just not near as bad. Pretty common thing with these trucks.

I had this same thing. 05 TRD 6 speed 130,000 miles. I bought the URD bearing kit and figured while I was having to have a shop actually touch my baby I might as well throw in a new clutch. Fixed the problem and then some : ) good luck with the warranty.

Thanks guys. Ive got an appointment at the dealership wednesday for them to swap the seat belts and check the rear leaf springs both under recall. Ill do some more research on what else may need to be checked. Might as well have them do everything all at once!
