It'll be a while, after this week end I decided I'm getting rid of it. After fighting with the ifs just to do 3 bushings then finding out I had a brand new inner cv Axle boot torn.

I'm indecided right now if I'll get the 4wu kit or get the Barnes kit then get my own coil overs. I'll be slowly purchasing stuff and building the axle/ getting everything ready then come mid-end of next year I'll cut out everything. That's the plans right now but are subject to change.

Full ome lift, nitro charger sports all 4 corners (rear shocks relocated), Dakar pack w/ AAL, 882 coils, diff drop, toytec 1" shackles, trail gear low profile front bumper, Tuff Stuff winch, bamf sliders, RAT skids, BAMF Bed Rack, Tepui Kukenam RTT, RAT rear bumper,
Interesting. What else do you need to make that 4wu kit work? I am toying with a SAS or LT upgrade in the next couple years. I like the thought of LT cuz I have the skills to install most of it... But ifs is a pain.

It'll be a learning experience for me, just look through the sas price thread and they will give you a pretty good idea of how much you'll spend for what you wanna do, and what you need to make it happen.

I'll check it out before you make the trek lol although right down the road is also beasley knob which is fun. Smaller but pretty fun.

Hopefully I'll be running a fj80 axle on 37s with 3 link front chevy 63 rear

At that point my truck wont be a DD anymore so it should turn into more of a crawler

Tellico would be but it's closed. Durham town opened up a part of it but not sure what part. As far as axles I'll be doing a fj80 front with rcvs eventually then not sure for the rear but probably a full chromo dana 60 rear.

I also plan on picking up a cheap honda or something for a dd at that point. That's mainly to have something to drive so I can take my time building the truck.

A d60 with a toy front? What are you going to do about the width difference? Bolt pattern? What size tire you planning on running? I have more ground clearance at the diff with my toy axles on 37's than my buddy has with 60/14 on 39.5's.. Just throwing some good for thought out there

Good point lol haven't really been giving it much thought, more focused on the front. Also thought about a first gen tundra rear or even a matching fj80 rear.

Personally I don't see any reason to change out the tacoma rear

He's being dumb, if anything I'll build a 9.5 hybrid axle for the rear.

At some point I'll be running a 39-40" tire I'm sure and would want the strength of something bigger lol

If you're planning on going that big just go with a d60 front and 14 bolt rear from the start. If I could do it over that's what I would do

Shhh he's buying the FJ80 axles from me  The FJ80 axle will be more than strong enough for what he will do with the truck at the time being. Plus it will be an ALL Toyota build.

Sorry, not trying to mess up your sale haha. Never understood the "all toyota" mindset. I guess if you're a diehard then it makes sense...

Na your good, from what it sound anything done after this on the truck will kill the all toyota thing. I can see a 1 ton v8 truggy in the future. Builds are all about progression. Have to build, enjoy, tear apart and rebuild.

Sounds like what's in my future lol. And I agree about the stages but it's a hell of a lot cheaper to just go for your end goal first.

Chris, how much would I be looking at to do a simple 60/14 build? 5.38's, hd diff covers, high steer, 35 spline outers, f/r spools? Seems like prices on stock axles are all over the place
