How does the dynamic navigation work on the 24 Tacoma? I have the Premium pkg but I don't know how the dynamic navigation works.

Never heard of it. It’s called cloud navigation on my app. I believe that is just a cellular connection that provides traffic updates. My truck came with one year free. I am not sure if I’ll continue after that since I find the maps on CarPlay meet my needs.

Unless you’re driving all over the place and have no idea where you’re going and don’t know how to read signs it might be a good thing . But really sounds like a cash grab . :notsure:

Toyota has literally the worst oem navigation set up of any brand, I travel a lot for work and have been in just about every rental situation you can imagine. save your money and just pay for some phone data and use Google maps/car play

Just plug in the phone and let google do its thing, its free, they are already siphoning data, why not get something out of it.

    Google will re-direct with delays.

This is what Toyota says: What is Dynamic Navigation? Dynamic Navigation uses the most up-to-date maps, routes and points of interest. Newly built roads, landmarks & destinations are automatically added. Dynamic Navigation does not rely on your personal cell phone data. The system quickly recalculates newly available routes.

Me? Google Maps works great for me, and I'm not willing to pay a subscription for Toyota's map program.

Mine came with the Premium package not sure how long it will last before disappearing. It has been great for 3 years. Easy to use voice activation etc etc.

Dynamic Navigation is a local based navigation the reside on you vehicles system. It does not use outside networks and can operates when there are no networks as it only needs to retrieve data from GPS satellites. The ap data needs to be typically updated at the dealer for a cost.

I do not have a Gen 4, but my understanding is that it is now a subscription based Toyota navigation system. I could not access during my test drives since it was not activated an it required connection to Toyota's subscription services.

The answer as already stated by @Sagebrush is use Carplay or AA and google maps.
