I would return all 4 and get the new falken A/T3W.

I have the older more aggressive hankooks and like them. No problems so far, but the new falkens looks more aggressive and seem to have really good reviews also.

I'm in the same boat. Just had a set of 2017 265/75/16 ATM's installed on my Tacoma and they're not what I thought I'd be getting. Nothing online from Hankook or any other distributor about tread pattern change...but it's most certainly different. What did you end up doing?

Yeah they definitely were different. I needed up returning the newer version and keep the better looking ones. I contact the seller and I found two 2016' version and replaced them. I sure that the newer version perform great, they just didn't look as aggressive. Not cool on Hankooks part for not mentioning it anywhere. I think when these will need replacing I will just go with the wildpeaks. Good luck man.

I got my second 'different' DynaPro, last week as a road hazard (flat) replacement... While it has a "softened" shoulder look, it remains the same tire and I can tell no difference at all.

You guys know that Nissan made this tire the stock tire on the new Frontier (and Xterra?)... maybe the production increase is what called for the tiny design change?

If that softer edge was there 5 years ago, would you still be upset? Hey, I like the older look too, but things do change and we got to pick out battles!

5 years ago with the softer edge, I wouldn't have even bought the tire. I was looking for an aggressive look without spending$$ or I would have bought the ko2. I have seen the wildpeak and I really think they are the next best looking at tire

Cooper AT3 is around that price and I think they are a better tire. I would take the Falken Wilpeak too. The issue with those Hankooks is the mix and match tires people are being sent. That shouldn't happen and I have seen a few people on here with this issue. Hankook makes a good tire but tires are ultra competitive now and the buyer benefits from that. Best of luck!

Just called Hankook. They haven't changed the tread patter and asked for pictures. This might get interesting. Stay tuned...

IMG_0180.jpg Tread on these WAS different and after a visit to the shop that installed them they were baffled. Just look at the profile difference between the outer and inner knobs here. New set of tires coming Monday.

Honestly, that looks like a used tire beside a new one! To me, that is a big deal. I would just get your money back and go elsewhere and get another tire.

Should have clarified. Tire on left has about 200 miles on it. Mounted last week. Was Brand New. Tire on right is, obviously, new. Interesting bit...we checked out 5 different ATM's at the shop, all of which had the correct tread...and came from a factory in Indonesia. Mine (with the incorrect tread) came from a factory in Korea.

But yeah, is it a huge deal in the grand scheme of things? No. Did I want what I thought I was going to get with these tires, yes? Which is why I've pursued it. First set of this tire for me, so I'd like to see what folks are talking about. I've run AT3's, Grabbers, ATP's (Discount's in house Cooper), Duelers, and BFG's on my truck and Hankook iPike's, Nokians Haks, Norman's, Cooper Weather masters, and Firestone Winterforces, and many others on our Subaru. I live on dirt roads. 15 miles daily of dry pack/loose/mud/ruts/ etc depending on the time of year and then the pavement that comes after it. We do a ton of snow driving with stiff elevation gains and like a tire that runs 365 days a year for the truck. Agree with above statements that the AT3 is, so far, is the best at everything. I've run three sets on different rigs. Grabber's and BFG's look sweet but suck in the snow. Honestly the best snow performance I've had so far was a set of 235/85/16 AT3 pizza cutters. Cut right down through the slop to the road bed. Anyway, I like trying new tires and the Hankook's are the latest. We'll see how the proper set sizes up after the install on Monday and the winter to come. Cheers for the feedback from this new member.

I'm the same way. I had a KO2 replaced and was given one with white letters inside. The other three originals are all black. OCD went full force and I ended up going back in and asking for a tire with no white letters. Nobody else noticed but me... My wife tells me I have a problem. Lol

Luckily for me my wife is just as bad if not worse than me! That kind of stuck drives me crazy. Not to mention the fact that we pay a lot of money to get these tires so the least they can do is give us matching ones. If I didn't care about matching tires I would save a bunch of money and go get some pull offs in pairs or something.

Discount Tire is generally really good. If it were me I would want the newest tire (latest manufacture date) I could get my hands on. A lot of people never look at dates and I have seen 3 current year tires and 1 tire that is 4 or more years older, yet still all new tires. If you have any issues with DT they will take care of you.
