Anyone have an idea to cover/seal the open connectors?

Dielectric grease? It might flow with the engine heat though.

Short of buying the proper pigtail connectors — yeah, dielectric grease and wrapping it up real nice in electrical tape should do the trick

Was thinking the same thing, figured it would run when hot

I was thinking of using a large wire nut and heat shrink tubing on the connector.

Nah, it won't. I have dielectric in the unused terminals in my blueseas fuse block. Not even a hint of trying to melt. And I idle in the Arizona summer for hours sometimes.

Flashed to 87 octane tune and filled the tank. After 100 miles and the tune settling in, the stutter was back. I plugged the ACIS back in and felt no difference at low RPM’s. I’m going to chock this up to a placebo effect. Still interested to see Dino results though

Matt tunes the acis differently than factory, if i had ovtune i wouldn't have even tried unplugging this.

I can tell 100% that this is smoother than with it plugged in. Does it lack some power? Definitely feels like it. However it completely removed the lunging at low rpm in all gears. It got rid of that 3500rpm surge, but if course power was lost there as well.

The surge at 3500 does not bother me at all, but having to downshift to first gear around slow corners was driving me crazy.

I wish i could capture the lunging it does if i leave it in second gear.

If I'm in 6th gear at 35 mph and give it full throttle , yes it does stutter, but that's expected.

I would be interested to see what it would drive like with the acis unplugged in the open position.

Or even ovtune with the acis disabled

    I ca-ca-can-can't re-re-real-really desci-describ it, but you-you'll reco-recog-recognize it when you hear it. o_O

Those problems don't exixt with an automatic transmission, because, well, it shifts AUTOMATICALLY.

Wonder what they'll think of next?

Not missing. But fluctuating abruptly from power band performance to essentially no or much lower power. Rapidly and you are feeling or sensing it?

i can best describe it as if you were driving a manual and trying to accelerate in too high of a gear

So i plugged it back in, absolutely horrible.

I unplugged it again and later in the day my wife rode with me. She basically refuses to ride in my truck because she hated the surging and stuttering.

    She noticed the difference immediately.

    Not placebo

As far as the auto comment goes, i decide what gear i want. I'm a control freak.

    Fascinating.

The only thing even remotely close and not really related is my truck lives for cold days. I don't mean cold starts. My engine thrives when driving fully warmed in cold air. Warm days just so so..Maybe just air density....

    It's completely stock.

The more I've driven it the more it had pissed me off. I drive between jobs and travel in traffic alot.

The 1st to 2nd shift has always been horrible. when moving i don't like to shift back to first, it's unpleasant in any manual trans.

With this unplugged, it's a pleasure to drive, plug it in and it's just not nice.

I'm saying there is something basically wrong. My MT never did that in 100% stock form.
