I would prefer not to cobble together adapters...does anyone know the stock pipe diameter on a 2001 DC?

Stock exhaust tubing is 2.25 dia. Exhaust shops can make a 2.5 dia muffler work on 2.25 tubing. This is why some might have needed adapters and some didnt.

Depends on the skill if the installer. My guy just welded the stock pipe straight onto the larger diameter muffler. Took him a whopping 20 minutes to do the whole thing.

Yeah i just hammered the opening on the muffler a little to reduce the size so I wouldn't have such a big gap to weld. It really wasn't much though.

i'm looking at getting one of these. if the stock diameter is 2 1/4 why not get #17747. that one is the same as 17748 but has 2 1/4 in and out
