i have a 95.5 sr5 v6 5 speed that i am rebuilding. i bought the truck from my best friend that bought it new. it had 130k when i got it and 150k when some young punk drove through an intersection and into the drivers side. it has taken 4 years of part time work, searching out decent parts and finally just deciding to finish it. i will post pictures as soon as i can.

here are some pictures of my tacoma. the first is the only one i can find of it before the crash. the next are of it after a teenage driver failed to yeild at an intersection and t-boned me. luckily i walked away with bruises, then came the fight with my insurance company. they planned to take my truck and pay off the note to the bank. i had quite a heated debate with them and finaly contacted the kids insurance. they paid it off and i bought it back for $700 with a clean title.

some pictures of the work in progress. i did not want to spend alot on rebuilding the truck. i had too many bills and had just bought my 2000 superduty so the tacoma was not a priority. after about 8 or 10 months a friend gave me some leftovers he had from a project he had just finished. i got a cab from a rolled tacoma. it was not perfect but useable so i went to it. i used a skill saw with an abrasion blade and chopped my cab apart, took some measurements then chopped the other cab appart. fitting everything together turned out to be quite a chore but i finaly got it so the door would open and close.

a little bit of a setback this weekend. i had the cab finished the 3" exhaust built and was trying to put the bed on when i discovered that the frame had indeed been bent in the crash. the rails kind of resemble a banana. so it is off to the frame shop thursday to get an alignment.

so i finally got my uploading issue fixed (everyday i learn something new:eek:) so here is a picture of my tacoma after the accident. this one shows the damage a little better. dont forget i was driving this when it was hit and walked away with only bumps and bruises. if the fire department had not cut the battery cables i could have started it and drove it out of the ditch it landed in.

this is how it has sat in my garage for the last 2 years. i got frustrated with it and just left it sitting there. this spring i decided that it was either going to be fixed or sent to live somewhere else.

i had already bought an aftermarket fender and a replacement door from a local junkyard. i just could not get the door to line up the way it should and did not want to just throw it together at this point. i called around to several local body shops but could not find one that wanted to finish it for me.

in june of this year i found a local body shop that was willing to finish the body work and paint the cab and bed for me. his price was reasonable so i brought the truck to him. this is what it looked like when i got it back.

here are some interior pictures. the carpet is in both amps are in and wired up, the shifter boots and knobs, both door panels are on and everything works. i used the original power window motor as well as the power door locks, i even pulled the outside door handle off and changed the key lock so i would have the original lock and be able to use the original key.

the rear with the 6x9s in the bench the 6 inch 3 ways in the walls. i rewired all the speakers with heavy gauge wire and soldered all the connections.
