Am looking to change my stock 04 grill and came across this from EAuto Grilles.

    http://www.eautogrilles.com/product_p/46-0521.htm

I tried to find if anyone had mounted one on a First Gen but didn't see any evidence of this. I do like the rivet styling...I know it's not for everyone, so please hold off if you're a hater.

It's a bit pricey at almost 300 clams, but I'm pretty sure I don't have the skills to pull this off, and IMHO grills are to trucks what teeth are to women (kind of like wheels are to trucks what bolt-ons are to women).

Has anyone done this mod and can you comment on the fit and finish?

And it's black, so it's high performance and 'tactical' too!

It looks like it's the whole unit, not just an insert, which is why I was pretty interested in it. I just don't trust I would do a clean enough job if I did the insert myself...and yes, it is kind of Tactical, which shows my old cop roots I guess? Just a feeler trying to see if anyone has done one yet?

^^^^^^^^^^^ what he said! OP i have literally been searching for years for that exact grill and have even looked at that company before trying to find one like that and never did. Im thinking that it just came out recently. You should get it and install it and post some pics up and let us know how it goes!

You guys inspire me...I've got it on the list of mods. I've got some custom sliders being built with a step for my short little wife that doesn't look too much like a step. Will do the grill mod after the sliders and let ya'll know how it turns out!

I did mine myself. Bought a used grill on ebay (it had a broken tab so got it cheap) so I could work at my leisure. Once complete, sold my old grill and almost broke even.

there was some DIY around here of someone making this exact style grill. Cost like $20 or something. Looks kinda silly to me though. Rivets are 'ok' on the big part, but way over the top on the 2 outer sections.

If grilles on cars to you as teeth are to women..then I think the grille looks like a cheap hooker with fishnet leggings zip-tied together in about 25 spots. [IMG]

Hey you last two posters...a little quote from my original post on this thread:

"I know it's not for everyone, so please hold off if you're a hater."

I was asking if anyone else had done this mod, not if you liked the grill.

I and others obviously like this grill and would not have posted if we didn't. Your lack of respect is the kind of thing that breaks down communities like this that we all enjoy.

Since you two dislike the rivets so much it inspires me all the more to get one, put it on my truck, and hope you will see it and it pisses you off...

Yeah man, wasnt too hard as long as I didnt feel rushed. Took my time and did some work every other day until I got it about how I wanted it. I didnt get the lips completely perfect but to do so would have cost another tube of bondo and I was trying to keep costs neutral. Didnt bother me much so I learned to live with it. Can only notice if you look REAL close.
Critical yes, not very constructive though...

Personally, I like it. Although some wont go for it because it wont complement their trucks color ...or chrome accessories. Mine is all black and red. I like the grill so Im going to contact them and see if they can use some black rivets instead. Thanks for posting this. I have been looking for a nice grill for a while now.
