Hello everyone, I was also kicking tires for a few years before I finally pulled the trigger on my 2019 Giant Trance E1 Pro XL frame ( Canadian version) ..after 2500kms of technical single track/ and bike park terrain...this bike and it's components have held up well...the only thing it will need this spring is a new rear tire and possibly a rear cassette....both are pretty worn...still work fine but just preventative maintenance. Every year the manufacturers seem to one up each other on the quality of their bikes...I was also looking at Cube ...but favored the Yamaha motor over the Bosch at that time. 20200829_125437.jpg

Got my eBike a few months ago. Coming from dirt bikes I wanted one to go up more so I could go down more. Have been doing 20-30 mile rides with 4000-6500ft of climbing so far. Gets me out more since dirt biking is an all day thing and riding my eBike is only 4hrs allowing me to be back home with the kids. More and more choices these days, but nothing in stock due to covid. I was lucky and grabbed mine used (3 miles on a bike path) a week before prices skyrocketed. Specialized raided the price of my bike from 6300 to 7500. Most others have followed suit or just don’t have any stock for months. Going to ride this for a year and half and sell before the warranty runs out.

I've been riding mountain bikes since 2008, I tried a few ebikes over the years and found them to be fun but was never interested in them due to their bulky size and handling. Fast forward to present day and I discovered the levo SL and the orbea rise. Both are trail biikes in the 140mm to 150mm travel range. Imo this new category of "lower profile" more pedal friendly version of ebikes coming in at sub 40lbs are game changers. If you want the workout of a normal acoustic bike just shut off the assist and the bikes will pedal with little to no drag, than when your content in your workout hit the fun button and go party mode.

I suspect that I could have set a record for blowing up the motor in my 2021 Levo Comp. At 160 miles and six charge cycles the motor is randomly knocking, throwing an error code. I got an email into the bike shop to see when I can bring it in for a look.

I was very interested in ebikes for casual riding, bike paths, lite/easy trails - just to get outside and get some exercise and fresh air. I didn't want to spend thousands on something I was unsure I'd enjoy. The specific bike I was looking at popped up on FB Marketplace and I jumped on it.

RadRover Step-Through, brand new in the box (never assembled), got it for $850! (half of retail) This one interested me because of price, my wife can also ride it, and Rad has a good rep w/ a lot of aftermarket support and mods.

I ride it every day for 6-7 miles usually on pedal assist 1 or 2; 3 or 4 for bigger hills. I find the throttle nice for take-off when I need to cross a street fast, but otherwise rarely use it. Blew out the rear tube at 43 miles. I frickin' love this thing and want to ride it a couple of times a day, I'm hooked! Have since added a rear rack, a suspension seatpost is en route, and I'm already looking for another ebike so my wife and I can ride together. I have a spare tube now + my tools, and intend to do my first long ride (20+ mi) this weekend.

I thought about converting my old Schwinn from the 80's to electric. Its probably not the best platform but my dad and I fixed it up and I am already tight on storage in the garage so I don't want to have another bicycle taking up space.

Cool to find this thread. First a little about me. I'm a senior, used to be an avid cyclist. Do more restorations on old classic schwinns now. Worked in a bike shop for many years as a young man, also did moped work back in the 70s and 80s. So fast forward to todays time and wow has the ebike thing taken off. I started researching ebikes about a year ago. My needs are not for of road or mountain biking, more on road. I also didnt want to spend huge amounts of money on one. So my girl and I have purchased 2 bikes. Hers is an Aventon Aventure fat tire step through ebike. Nice quality bike for under 2 grand. With my moped background I wanted something more along those lines as I planned to set my bike up as a commuter. So I purchased an Ariel Rider x-class 52v 1000 watt hub drive. We absolutely love these bikes. I ride mine everyday that it's not raining. I only gas my Tacoma up once a month now! I also get some excersize from my bike as I peddle all the time and dont just use the throttle. Now keep in mind that we are in our 60s now so we are not balls out mountain bikers, lol. But we still like to ride and these bikes where at a price point that we could afford and the build quality is good on these bikes.
This is Betty's aventon. We have added some accessories to the bike since this pic. It now has a rear rack, water bottle holder, phone holder, and mirror. And a cloud 9 seat.

This is my x-class, I've really built this up to suit me and my work commute. I've changed the tires to motorcycle tires for better puncture resistance, put taller handlebars on it and some auxiliary lighting for my dark morning commutes, and the tank bag. It also has a removable Givi top box so I can carry my lunch, thermos, and coffee cup with me. I absolutely love this bike and have so much fun on it.

I really like the look of that Ariel! That bag is a perfect fit ascetically. If I hadn't gone to the website, wouldn't have known it didn't come from the manufacturer.

I have the cube stereo. Love Riding it as I don’t do it for exercise. Mostly ride it at the beach Even Though it’s a full suspension bike. Just wanted it Incase I wanted to off-road. Makes wanting to get out and ride easy because I know if I don’t want to put a lot of effort I just turn up the pedal assist. So far no issues with the bike and had it a year. Set me back about 7500 when I bought it.

Ariel sells the exact same bag for it but with their logo on it. But when I went to buy it they where out of stock and didn't know when they would get them again.
