I would think you will be ok to drive it.

If the battery light comes on with the brake light then it's a charging issue. Did you try tinkering with the brake master cap to see if that was the culprit. Maybe it's sending a false signal??? Other than that it may just be a short from either sensor to the dummy light.

Did you click on the line below and try that procedure?
The cable often get stretched and the tension needs to be adjusted.
If you click on the link below, it'll show you how to adjust it.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
This right here. My light was on too, and looking at the fluid you could barely justify adding more because it was just a hair off full. Well, that one little bit was enough to trigger the light. They are sensitive little buggers about having the brake fluid topped off all the time!

i WASHED my truck off today before work. just rinsed with water! went to get in the truck and the light was off!! thanks for all the suggestions and help. i guess salt and dirt got around it and messed it up enough for the light to stay on

LOL, typical toyota problem. Some light goes on and you don't even do anything out of the ordinary and then it goes back to normal.

don't believe it, the switch is inside your dashboard or inside your brake fluid jar, I don't think washing it reached either one of these but if its brake fluid then parking the truck at a different angle will make it go off, for a while. if the switch in the dash was stuck then maybe it finally went off or the brake handle was finally moved in all the way but just to be safe you need to check brake fluid level.
