    Hey Everyone,
My E-Brake light has been going on and off on its own for a little while now. The e-brake is fully compressing the switch and I am sure that is all fine because when the light is off I can make it go on and off with the lever. I checked my brake fluid and it is right between min and max so I'm not sure what is left to check. There aren't any pending codes and the trucks runs and stops fine.

That level switch in the resivior is very sesitive to level. Try putting a few more ounces of brake fluid in. I played this game and this is how I won.

yup, what he said, and, there is a spring loaded return do hickey somewhere under the driver side close to the fuel filter, spray lube that for better return...

Also check tension, you may have to take up the slack a bit, again adjusted right where you are going to spray the spring thingy...

    Been there, done it...problem solved...

The e brake light is always on in my truck even though the e brake is in....... could be something wring with the springs..... thats what I think.... does the light turn off when you push it all the way in and hold it there?

this happened on my dads 1st gen. I adjusted the parking brake by taking up the slack (bracket under truck below drivers seat area), but didnt fully cure the problem. I ended up pulling off the rear drums and blowing all the dust out and adjusting the parking brake there. That solved the problem. Hope this helps.
